A former Ube Bake Off Champ is back! 👑💜
Ava Marie won the Ube Bake Off in 2019 with her Ube Flan, and this year she’s switching things up with an Ube Cannoli with Hershey’s Chocolate.
Her Italian-inspired creation is a nod to the Italian community of South San Francisco, where she lives, while bringing a Filipino favorite into the mix.
Ava has been cooking since she was 13 and has been part of the 7 Mile House community for years. She’s competed, cooked, blogged and shared her love of the kitchen with us in so many ways.

Kathy is bringing her Ube Crunch Cake to this year’s Ube Bake Off! 💜
Her moist ube cake is topped with ube whipped cream frosting and finished with coffee crunch for an extra layer of texture.
And there’s a reason Kathy calls it “coffee crack.” 👀
The secret? The crunch gets added right before you eat it, so you get that perfect crispy texture with every bite.
Kathy is a home baker who loves making all kinds of treats, from carrot cake to sourdough, and she’s bringing that same love of baking to this year’s competition.
