This summer, help us spread the word about The Ivy Table.

One of the most common things we hear is, "I can't believe I didn't know this place existed!"

So we're launching the Summer Share Challenge — an opportunity for more people to discover what happens around our tables, and we need your help!

For the next 30 days, bring a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member who has never visited before. Each time you bring a first-time guest, both of your names will be entered into our weekly Friday drawing for Ivy Table merch.

Then, on July 3, one grand prize winner will win a private breakfast or lunch gathering for up to 12 guests in our Glass Room--our way of saying thanks for helping share our story.

The weather is beautiful, the garden is growing, and there's no better time to gather around a table with someone new.

Help us spread the word, share a meal, and introduce one more person to The Ivy Table--a place where everyone belongs and community is fed!

Tag the friend you'd like bring as your guest below. ⬇️

Lake Trust to the rescue!

Last week, we mentioned to a member of the Lake Trust team that we were having trouble with email deliverability and weren't quite sure how to fix it.

Today, someone from an entirely different department reached out and offered to help. We were invited to stop by their headquarters, and within minutes, their IT manager had identified the issue, corrected our domain's DNS records, and fixed the problem.

We are so grateful for their support, which goes far beyond financial contributions. They stay connected and are always looking for practical ways to use their time, talents, and expertise to strengthen our mission.

In fact, next week they'll be back again—this time sending members of their marketing team to help capture photos in the café so we can better tell its story.

We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and for the many ways they continue to invest in our programs and in our community.

Thank you, Lake Trust Credit Union for your pay-it-forward spirit. We appreciate you more than you'll ever know.

Taco Salad: A Birthday Wish Granted 🌮

Our cafe manager, Barb, has been an essential part of The Ivy Table from the beginning. Whether encouraging staff, supporting volunteers, or welcoming guests, she makes the cafe a very special place.

And for months now, she's been asking for one simple thing...
Taco Salad.

So in honor of Barb's birthday today,
our culinary team has added Taco Salad to the menu.

Stop by,
enjoy a meal,
and help us wish Barb a very happy birthday.

Just a reminder that The Ivy Table Cafe is CLOSED TODAY (May 20) as we continue our kitchen A/C upgrades.

But since we can’t gather around the table together today… we thought we’d use the opportunity to celebrate someone who spends most of her days in the kitchen ,behind the scenes, making that table possible.

Today also happens to be Chef Carolynn’s birthday 🎉

If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal at The Ivy Table, experienced our catering, benefited from Connecting Tables, volunteered in our kitchen, or simply felt cared for through food here — chances are you’ve experienced Carolynn’s leadership.

She leads our kitchen with incredible care, consistency, and heart, and somehow manages to keep hundreds of moving pieces (and people) going every week.

We’re grateful for all that she pours into this space and into the people who walk through our doors.

Feel free to leave her a birthday wish in the comments — we’ll make sure she sees them 💛

Today’s café experience may feel just a little more… summer picnic than usual

Our kitchen A/C upgrades began yesterday, and while we knew we’d be closed tomorrow (May 20), we didn’t realize the kitchen A/C would need to be disconnected today.

With temperatures predicted to be in the mid 80's this afternoon, we’re making a few temporary changes to keep our staff and volunteers comfortable and safe while they continue serving our community.

One of the biggest sources of heat in our kitchen is our commercial dishwasher, so for today, we’re swapping in paper plates.

Not quite our normal feel… (and we are sorry about that), but we're hoping you will help us embrace the picnic vibes 😉 Thanks for rolling with the punches and helping us take care of the people behind the plates.

We deeply believe in the power of prayer!

Beginning this Tuesday, May 19 we are organizing an Ivy Table Prayer Team that will gather on the third Tuesday of each month from 8:15–9:15am in the glass room.

This group will pray intentionally throughout the month for our ministry, staff, volunteers, guests, and community.

Let us know if you can't make the prayer team gathering, but would like to be added to our prayer team e-mail list.

And for those who are interested ... stay a while longer and join us for Consider the Lilies. a non-denominational Bible study open to all women of all ages and stages-- 9:30am-11:30am every Tuesday.

No homework.
No pressure.
Just come, gather, and be fed.

A Sweet Surprise!
Last week, Brownie Troop 40979 from Spencer Elementary in Brighton chose our volunteers as their “Hometown Heroes” , dropping off several boxes of Girls Scout Cookies for them to enjoy.

While our volunteers would never think of themselves as "heroes", this thoughtful gesture meant so much. Most of the people who serve at The Ivy Table do it simply because they love this community and believe in creating a place where everyone belongs.

Moments like this are a good reminder that kindness gets noticed — even by the youngest members of our community.

Thank you, Brownie Troop 40979, for encouraging our team in such a thoughtful and delicious way. 💛

The cafĂŠ will be CLOSED May 20

This Wednesday, we have to close the cafĂŠ, to install much-needed air conditioning improvements in our kitchen.

Last summer, our kitchen temperatures regularly climbed above 90 degrees while our staff and volunteers tried to prepare meals for the community. It was almost unbearable at times, but they suffered without complaining- -using fans and wet towels to try and stay cool.

Although, we appreciated their great attitudes, we cannot let another summer begin without creating a safer and more sustainable environment for our incredible team serving behind the scenes every day.

We’ll reopen with normal hours on Thursday, May 21 and are sorry for any inconvenience this causes!

Join us for Sunday Supper this weekend -Thai style. 🇹🇭

Our culinary team will be preparing a simple Thai style dinner and members of our April mission team will be sharing stories, photos, and updates from our recent trip to Thailand.

If you’ve ever wondered how Thailand became a part of our story, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the communities we partner with and the work happening there.

We will also have a small silent auction with treasures that we brought home from our most recent trip.

There are about 20 seats left.
Suggested donation: $10/person.
We would love for you to join us.
