Ever wonder just how your coffee gets roasted? Follow along as Mike roasts a batch!

Fun Fact: Mike is the ONLY person who roasts our coffee. So every bag you bring home has been roasted by Mike himself, right here at Mike Shea’s Coffee Roasting. From the first crack to the final roast, he’s hands-on every step of the way.

It all starts with green beans in burlap sacks, imported from all over the world, and carefully chosen by Mike.

Here, he portions them into buckets to be transported to the roaster. (Not sponsored by Home Depot btw)

The beans are fed into our roaster where they are constantly agitated and roasted by a flame inside the machine. More time for darker roasts, less time for lighter roasts.

When they are finished roasting, the machine releases them into the cooling bin. The center mechanism rotates them clockwise to allow them to cool faster.

Here’s a bin full of freshly roasted coffee!

Once cooled, the roaster moves them into the larger overhead funnel, which allows Mike to deposit them into their respective bins.

The beans will then move to our production team, who labels, grinds, and packages each bag by hand!
