Bloodroot is going to Italy. Help our filmmakers continue its legacy.
Many of you have followed Bloodroot's story for years through the meals, the conversations, and the community built together over decades. That story isn't over.
A Culinary Uprising: The Story of Bloodroot has been officially selected for the 21st Immaginaria International Film Festival in Rome, where it will premiere on May 9th. Director Annie Laurie Medonis and Associate Producer Julie Zimmermann are traveling to Rome to represent the film, and with it, Bloodroot's story is crossing the ocean.
Thanks to the generosity already received, the team has raised over $6,000, covering flights and lodging. Now they're raising an additional $3,990 to expand what they can create and capture while they're there.
That means bringing Victoria Torres Bolaños on as production assistant. Victoria has shown up for this film at nine screenings across the East Coast, New Mexico, and Canada, filming, networking, and running the merch table. With Victoria on the ground in Italy, the team can do so much more:
Deeper on-the-ground filming and storytelling
Audience interviews and testimonials
Short-form content that brings Bloodroot's story to new communities
Building momentum for future screenings
The trip is happening. But your donation is what transforms it from a screening into something lasting. The content and connections we capture will carry Bloodroot's legacy far beyond May 9th.
If you're able to give $2,000, $1,000, or $500, that would make a tremendous difference right now. And if not, every amount truly helps.

Even though Bloodroot's doors have closed, its legacy is alive in stories, pictures, videos, and now on an international screen. Help carry it across the world. 🍽️❤️
