Speaking from my heart this morning, not from my role as boss lady.
I wasn’t going to make a Dolly post. And I certainly wasn’t going to make a whole Dolly menu. 💗
Truthfully, it didn’t feel right at first. The thought of creating something because Dolly is gone felt too much like trying to profit from something that has genuinely made us so sad. (NO shade on anyone who has made a post- this is simply MY heart) And this one feels personal.
I have loved Dolly since I was a little girl. She has always been so much more than the rhinestones, big hair, incredible voice and larger-than-life personality we all love. She has been a bright light in this world—and such a beautiful example for women and little girls of what it looks like to be completely, unapologetically yourself.
She was strong and funny and feminine and smart. She paved the way for women while still reaching back to help others along behind her. She loved children. She believed in education and reading. Through her Imagination Library, she put books into the hands of millions of little ones and helped create opportunities for children she would never even meet. That part of who she was has always been especially dear to my heart. ❤️
So this morning, while our hearts were still heavy and it all still felt a little unreal, we started playing around with some teas.
And somehow… it became exactly what we needed.
We laughed. We talked about Dolly. We thought about her songs, her Smoky Mountain roots, her sparkle, her sass, her kindness and all the different pieces of her life that made her Dolly. We started creating drinks that reminded us of those pieces of her—and somewhere in the middle of all that sadness, we found a little bit of joy. 🥹💗
And really, doesn’t that feel a lot like something Dolly taught us?
Life is going to hand us hard things. There will be sadness and heartbreak. But we can still look for the beauty. We can find something to smile about. We can make something colorful out of something painful. We can keep loving people, keep laughing, keep giving and keep shining anyway.
So this isn’t a menu we created because Dolly is gone.
It’s one we created because Dolly was here. 💕
Because she gave this world so much worth celebrating.
✨ COUNTRY QUEEN — Protein • sweet, sassy & sparkly just like the Queen
💗 THE DOLLY — Beauty • citrus, melon & strawberry
🌈 COAT OF MANY COLORS — Protein • peach piña colada & blueberry
🏔️ SMOKY MOUNTAIN SONGBIRD — Beauty • blackberry, banana & blue blast
Making these this morning was unexpectedly therapeutic for all of us. For a little while, instead of focusing on how sad we are that her light is gone, we got to focus on how lucky we were that it shined so brightly in the first place.
So here’s to the woman who taught generations of girls that you can be soft and strong, glamorous and generous, ambitious and kind—and that there’s absolutely no such thing as too much sparkle. ✨💗
We’ll miss you, Dolly.
And we’ll keep looking for the rainbow in our own coat of many colors. 🌈🦋
We will always love you.
With Love, Jennifer
