It’s been a week of big goodbyes, and today we bring you a bittersweet farewell from Chatham as we send Tian off on her next adventure. 🦉🤍

For the past three seasons, Tian has been such an important part of the Chatham team. She’s brought thoughtfulness, reliability, humor and a whole lot of heart to the cafe, while also lending a hand in Brewster, Sandwich and Night Owl along the way.

Tian has grown alongside Chatham and played a meaningful role in making the cafe what it is today. We’re so grateful for the care she’s shown her teammates, our customers and the Snowy Owl community over the years.

Now, with graduation from Messiah University ahead of her, she’s heading off to see where a degree in Biochemistry takes her next. We’ll miss seeing her behind the bar, but we’re excited to see what comes next.

Thank you for everything, Tian Jamieson . We’re all cheering you on as you leave the nest. 🦉🎓

🚨 NEW COFFEE 🚨 We are excited to share the Kenya Karinga AA 🇰🇪☕️. Produced by smallholder farmers in the red volcanic soils of Kiambu County, this coffee is processed at the Karinga washing station, which is owned and operated by the GITWE Farmers Cooperative. Thank you to our partners Red Fox Coffee Merchants for fostering this relationship and bringing this exquisite coffee to us.

After harvesting, the ripe cherries are floated and depulped before fermenting in cement tanks for 16 to 18 hours. The coffee is then thoroughly washed and dried on raised beds for approximately two weeks, creating the clarity, fruit character, and sparkling acidity that make exceptional Kenyan coffees so memorable.

Thanks to our roasting team for dialing this in so nicely! From this cup, you can expect juicy blackberry and red currant, followed by dark plum and a sweet, agave like finish. Bright, lively, and light bodied, this one is especially beautiful as a pour over ☕️ xb❤️🖤💚🤍

Relationships in coffee are what it’s all about. ❤️☕️ Nothing brings us more joy than getting to sit down with our longtime partner and dear friend, Jeanine of JNP Coffee in Burundi.

We’ve had the privilege of working with Jeanine for 7️⃣+ years, bringing our customers her exceptional specialty coffee lots from across Burundi. Year after year, we continue to be in awe of her leadership, vision, and the incredible role she has played at the forefront of developing Burundi’s specialty coffee market.

But what makes this relationship especially meaningful is that it goes far beyond coffee. We feel incredibly lucky to call Jeanine not only a partner, but a friend and a colleague with a shared vision for our industry. Getting our families together, even for a quick afternoon coffee (or in this case, a Peruvian Cerveza Cusqueña beer at the Snowy Owl - Night Owl 🍻), is a reminder of just how special these relationships are.

Here’s to friendship, family, great coffee, and many more years of working together. And if you haven’t tried our latest Burundi, we are sorry to say that time is not on your side - we are almost out so grab a bag soon!

Meet Ty, our new Head Roaster! ☕️🔥

We’re delighted to officially welcome Tyler “Ty” Lemoyne to the Snowy Owl team!

A New England native, Ty has spent the past decade building his roasting experience with coffee companies, and even a malt house, from New Hampshire to Colorado. He joined us in mid-spring and immediately put that experience to work, helping carry our roasting team through a record-breaking summer while somehow keeping the friendliest smile his face.

Ty brings a passionate, thoughtful, and proactive approach to the roastery. He cares deeply about the coffee in front of him and about making sure everyone around him has what they need to succeed.

When he isn’t roasting our coffee, you’ll likely find Ty adventuring through the woods of New England or relaxing at home with his cat, Teto. 🐈

If you’re visiting us in Sandwich and happen to spot Ty behind the roaster, give him a wave. He’ll be happy to show you what he’s working on!
