Nineteen years ago, our family took a chance on a second W***y’s Bagels location at the end of Balfour Road.
At the time, it felt like we were opening on the edge of town. There was a brand-new high school nearby, plenty of open space, and more people seemed to be leaving than moving in.
People told us, “You guys are crazy.”
Looking back, maybe they were right.
But we had big dreams, plenty of prayers, a willingness to work hard, and most importantly, we had each other. So we jumped in as a family.
Then we worked.
And worked some more.
There were early mornings, late nights, long days, sacrifices, worries, victories, mistakes, and more blood, sweat and tears than we could ever put into words.
But somewhere along the way, something incredible happened.
Customers became friends. Friends became family.
We watched families grow alongside us, welcomed students year after year, and built lasting relationships with teachers, coaches, school staff, local businesses and so many wonderful people in our community.
We have also been blessed with terrific employees, amazing bakers and the best bagel makers — people who cared about W***y’s as if it were their own.
Through it all, we tried to give back to the community that supported us.
For 19 years, you have welcomed us into your mornings, school days, team breakfasts, meetings, celebrations and everyday routines.
What began as a crazy family dream at the end of Balfour Road became so much more than a bagel shop.
It became part of our family’s story — and that story would not exist without all of you.
Nineteen years later, we are still family owned, still working hard, still making bagels from scratch and baking daily, and still incredibly grateful to serve this community we love.
From our entire family, thank you for believing in us, growing with us and supporting W***y’s Bagels for the past 19 years.
