This one is hard to write.
Florida Poutine Co. won’t be at the Big Top Food Truck Rally this Saturday, April 4.
We’ve been holding on, hoping things would turn around—but at some point, you have to face reality. To show up this weekend would mean spending over $1,000 we simply don’t have… producing more than 140 lbs of fresh cheese, knowing most of it likely wouldn’t sell. That’s not a risk we can take anymore.
It’s been an incredible 5 years. We’ve met so many amazing people, shared laughs, made lasting friendships, and poured everything we had into something we truly believed in.
What hurts the most isn’t stepping back—it’s realizing how quiet things became when we needed momentum the most. It forces you to see things for what they really are.
Thank you to the 31 people who believed in us and donated. You saw what we were trying to build, and you made it real for us. That will never be forgotten.
Florida Poutine Co. has reached the end of the road.
But this isn’t the end.
Follow us at SqueakyCheese.—the curds aren’t going anywhere. Fresh cheese, Montreal smoked meat, fried cheese sticks, beer battered curds… we’re going to see just how far these curds can go. We’re currently in discussions with PoutineFest groups and exploring what’s next.
We truly wish everyone the best moving forward.
Merci Benoit.
