So much happening this week at The Spot Downtown! Students in the Aspire program were invited to sell beverages and snacks at a large meeting held at the RCSD Central Office. A big thanks to Shannon Boyce for providing this great opportunity. In addition to activities here, students were busy managing sales and creating new artwork for our art shop in our charming coffee house located at 223 Tamberline Street in Brandon, MS. 🎉 We also had a new pottery delivery from our friends in the Strive Transitional Program. We were thrilled to host this wonderful group today! The Spot Downtown is pleased to welcome small groups of students. If you would like more information, please contact us. A big thank you to Brandon Elementary School and to the educators and parents who made this trip possible. It was a full-circle moment for our students!

We were so honored to welcome Mrs. Lynn Hosemann, wife of Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann, and Captain Nathan King to The Spot Downtown this week!

Our amazing students from the RCSD Aspire/Strive Transitional Programs, along with members and volunteers of the Brandon Garden Club (BGC), were absolutely delighted to show them around. We loved sharing some of the incredible things that happen here every day, from hands-on vocational skills training for our students to the wonderful monthly gardening and landscaping activities we do together with the BGC. 

To wrap up such a special visit, Mrs. Hosemann even joined our students for a fun activity: the Mississippi State Pollinator Census! 🐝🌸

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day possible, especially Mrs. Ann Wentz, President of the Brandon Garden Club, for coordinating such a memorable day.

Hi everyone ☕️⭐️ Great things are happening at The Spot Downtown!

Our amazing students from RCSD are so excited to welcome you to our charming little coffee and gift shop, nestled right in the heart of Brandon’s historic district. 

Did you know that every time you stop by for a beverage or dessert, you are directly supporting education? Your visits allow our students to gain incredible, hands-on vocational skills and real-world training! 

We would absolutely love for you to drop in, see what we are all about, and say hello. It’s the perfect cozy spot to hang out, and we offer free Wi-Fi and even a nice space for small meetings (just ask us about availability).

Today marked the first day of our monthly gardening lessons with members and volunteers from the Brandon Garden Club. So much planning and preparation went into making the day a success-and that it was! From start to finish, students from Brandon and McLaurin High Schools demonstrated teamwork while developing their skills in horticulture and landscaping. The Spot Downtown is a charming little gem, and we invite you to see just how lovely it truly is❤️

Yesterday, our students from Florence High School, along with Ms. Hannah, assisted with processing a large inventory order at the Aspire Warehouse. Afterwards, Amiyha and Brady reported their findings to Mrs. Chasity Ott, who confirmed their results and spoke to the students about her role with the Rankin County School District. What a great opportunity this was!
