The Wednesday Word! ✝️

So in the last few weeks we have touched on the hardened heart, the shallow heart and the crowded heart. Today’s passage concludes the parable of the sower with the good soil…a heart that lives fully surrendered. I’m convinced this heart is a disciplined one.

It was to be willing to surrender its brokenness to God for healing in order to avoid hardening. It has to be willing to go deep which at times means enduring pain and hardship but keeping our eyes lifted to the Good Father in spite of our circumstances. And it has to be willing to adopt God’s way of life and not give in to every temptation of the flesh. We can only do these things by His strength but our impact for the Kingdom will be exponential!

I was reminded this week that God is not linear, look what He did with 5 loaves and 2 fish (Matthew 14:13-21)! Imagine what He can do with your yielded heart 🩷

The Wednesday Word! ✝️

Weeds and thorns are menaces that grow up quickly and require effort to remove. We have all experienced this in our gardens and landscape if we are not vigilant to pull them. What about in our life? What are things that keep your days full but your soul empty?

Jesus knew our worries, wealth and wants would be the most likely culprits. What would it look like if we allowed Him to pull the weeds from our thought life? What is the one thought that repeatedly haunts you? Ask Him to help you reframe it!

Or is there some material thing you’ve been idolizing? Have you even prayed if it is something you are to have? Doing so could save you a lot of future anxiety! The world will give us permission and the means to allow anything in our lives but only God knows what will be for our good 🩷

A customer sent us a picture of their gorgeous charcuterie board for an event over the weekend! The Grocery Stretcher was able to provide all of the meats, cheeses, dips, olives, crackers and more!

The Wednesday Word! ✝️

Building on last week, when we as believers refuse to surrender parts of our life God has called us to, our faith remains shallow! When trouble comes our way, we will cling to those false idols instead of our faith but eventually all will fail us. Faith certainly does not eliminate persecution or trouble from our lives but if we cling to it alone in difficult times, God reveals
Himself in new ways to us and all the resources of Heaven become ours 🩷
