Fire and Stone just went through one of the biggest test of its life. I am happy to say God was looking over the restaurant and water did not penatrate the interior of the building. I am very shocked since the water around the building was more than a foot. I bet the fact we have spent the right money to do jobs correctly and the building being built correctly was a blessing. I know a lot of people have either lost everything or damage to their property and we wish you the best and are praying for you. Fire and Stone has live for another day. Keep in touch for future information.

Thank you all and every one of you once again for all the well wishes, prayers and all the unprecedented support you have shown and expressed to Peter and I after his almost tragically ending traumatic fall while working at the parking lot on the low voltage lighting wiring at the top of the post towards the end of August.
We have to also thank again for amazing, fast and professional response of local Cortez Road West Manatee County Fire Rescue Station No. 2 EMS and their responders as well as fire fighters who acted under difficult weather conditions and got Peter into the Blake hospital in a record time and worked on him while getting him there. Big thank you to Dr Lee and his team in ER of the Blake Hospital, their ICU who were also amazing in responding to his Trauma.

I am very pleased to report that all the prayers were and are helping in Peter's healing process. He is improving. Unfortunately, the extend of injuries and additionall medical issues that surfaced were severe enough that the healing process is relatively slow. However, Peter, although in a lot of pain and discomfort continues to work as much as his pain and fatigue allowes him to do in the restaurant as well as attending and dealing with associated problems with the restaurant surroundings and he pushes forward as much as he can. Peter is a fighter, he is not a quitter. We are taking much longer then we would like and I am sure that all of you would like Fire&Stone to be up and running, and believe me that the unprecedented response and outreach of well over 3200 people after this tragic event just keeps driving Peter to keep going. His broken ribs are still very painful. We are progressing, even though some of you that pass us by are wondering about Fire&Stone. Please let me assure you, we are going steady now and making a huge headway. It is a big place and a lot of little things need to be attended to. And the fact is, unfortunately, It is only the two of us doing all the work. So please, let me ask you for a little more patience with our reopening. (Believe us, being patient does not go very well with either Peter or myself). But Peter is definitely on the upside and doing better, working on opening Fire&Stone for all of us.

Thank you for reading this update. Radka

Dear guests and avid supporters of Fire & Stone Pizza.

Our eagerly awaited restaurant opening will be delayed due to my husband's tragic accident.
Peter suffered terrible yraumatic fall from the ladder in the restaurant's parking lot, while working at the top of the post. He has been taken on the stretcher to the ER trauma unit and was operated on immediately. He suffered 8 broken back ribs and 1 broken rib punctured his lungs. His body was inserted with tubes pumping blood, fluids, as well as excess of unwanted misplaced air pressing on the other lung. His lung collapsed. And the recovery is very slow.. He is in excruciating pain. BLAKE hospital released him now. He was supposed to go to assisted living rehabilitation facility, but he opted for home care by me. His wife.
We were planning on some finishing items this week in order for the restaurant to open up. Now we will have major delays again. But at least, thankfully, Peter did not hit his head on the limestome bed of the ditch which could have had far more sinister consequences. Peter is going to be rehabilitating on doctor's orders, and recovering for at least 8 weeks, (doctor prognosis estimation).

Please bear with us during these difficult times. We will be back as soon as Peter recovers and gives us opportunity to finish up what is necessary in order to have the restaurant reopened.

Thank you all,

Radka Watson Ross

For a VERY LONG time, I have been silent on many topics as I do not feel this is the purpose of this FB page. Forgive me for oversharing (and pray that I don't lose my job).

Here is an excerpt from a letter dated January 31, 2020 from Mackey Law Group, P.A. to Pamela J. D’Agostino, Esq. Manatee County Government:

“You are likely aware of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation complaint against Fire & Stone for ALLEGEDLY creating an oil slick in Sarasota Bay by dumping raw sewage from the restaurant. This DEFAMATORY statement was made by a County representative to the DBPR inspector. The allegation was eventually removed from DBPR complaint and the DBPR dismissed the case voluntarily. The statement by the County employee was totally unsubstantiated and caused great harm to Fire & Stone’s otherwise stellar reputation.”

This information and much more is available online for public viewing on the Manatee County website. I own a property between this restaurant and the bay and would testify that there is NO WAY that the slick was caused from that distance. If anyone takes the time to do this, all the questions regarding why this fantastic restaurant has been closed for so long and who is really contaminating our bay will be answered.

Do the right thing: verify this information yourself then go back and correct any false information that you or others have spread. Spread the TRUTH. Gina
