With this being the cover of our paper this week, and BGSU Hockey hitting the ice tonight, I thought it was the perfect time to share something pretty special. 🧡🏒

A tribute to my dad from two of the big guys, Nelson Emerson and Rob Blake, who I was blessed to know through him.

My dad loved hockey, loved BGSU, and loved the relationships and memories that came with both. I feel incredibly lucky that his life gave me the opportunity to know people like Nelson and Rob, and even luckier that they took the time to honor and remember him.

Unfortunately, my dad didn’t get to physically be in the stands to watch their boys become Falcons and take the ice for BGSU.

But I have absolutely no doubt he was watching.

Some relationships and memories are bigger than hockey. This one means a lot.

Go Falcons. 🧡🤎🏒

🏆🧡 NINE RINGS. TEN FINGERS. ONE LEGENDARY FALCON!

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Dr. Lee Meserve to Barry Bagels Bowling Green, and he brought a little BLING with him! 💍🏆
Lee brought in NINE NCAA rings and let me wear EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!

For those who don’t know Lee, he’s a true BGSU legend! He spent 44 years teaching biological sciences at BGSU and nearly 20 years serving as the university’s NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative. His dedication to Falcon athletics runs so deep that the BGSU softball field is named in honor of him and his wife, Marge! 
What an incredible opportunity to hear his stories, try on all nine rings and meet someone who has given so much to our university and community!
