Memorial Day is one of those holidays that’s drifted towards a big retail sale weekend away from what it was always meant to be. It IS a wonderful time for joyous family gatherings or lake trips — however, it's originally a day set aside specifically to honor the men and women who died in service to this country. It is the solemn side which warrants a few moments. A few things worth knowing about U.S. flags on Memorial Day: The flag is to be raised to full staff briskly, the lowered to half-staff until noon, then raised to full staff for the remainder of the day. That transition is intentional — half-staff in the morning to honor those who gave all, full staff in the afternoon to honor the living nation they died for. If you have fixed flag, tradition says to tie black flowing ribbon at the top until noon. 🇺🇸 To the friends & families of the fallen — We thank you.

Sunday Funday doesn't stop when we flip the sign! 🤠🍔
