This Memorial Day, we salute the men and women that keep our Country safe and free. All active and retired military are welcome to stop in today between 11 and 6 for a free regular ice cream of their choice, on us!

Pictured below are volunteers from the Boulder Junction American Legion Post, who were treated to ice cream by the Ice Shanty. After spending time at Boulder Junction’s Cemetery of the Pines cleaning up and placing flags for veterans we have lost. Let us not forget those that gave their all!

Just a reminder that we are open today until 6, with our grill closing at 5:30. We’ll be closed during the week, then starting our summer seven-day-a-week schedule on Saturday, the 30th, when we’ll be open daily daily from 11am to 10pm, with our grill closing at 9:30.

Let summer begin!

A BIG Thank you to all who turned out this weekend for our soft opening! It was great to reconnect with so many familiar faces, as well as meeting many new friends. Our new addition of Boulder Junction inspired dirty sodas was a huge success! Many enjoyed scanning the QR code to learn more about these delicious concoctions. We will have printed versions of this menu as we draw closer to summer. Just a reminder we are closed during the week this week and we will return for the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend on Friday at 11:00. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we will be open 11-10 and Monday 11-6. We will begin our 7 day a week schedule the weekend after. See you on Friday!!! 🍦🍔🍟🌭🥤

Well the wait is finally over…it is officially Shanty Season!! We are stocked and ready for our soft opening this weekend. We are excited to see all of you. We will be open Friday and Saturday 11-10 and Sunday 11-6. 🍦🍔 🌭

With spring right around the corner, we are counting the days until we can open for the summer and see all of our friends. But in the meantime, it gives us a chance to do something wonderful for the community. Coming up this Saturday, February 21st, we will be hosting a fundraiser for the Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club. From 11 to 2 at the Boulder Junction snowmobile club groomer shed, located right on the trail just north of the community center, will be the second annual Brat Fry. This year we will also be having a we**ie roast and chili dump. All proceeds will benefit the snowmobile club and the replacement of the groomer shed. We hope to see you all there!

People….

You can sum up our entire season in this six letter word, as without people, the Ice Shanty would not exist. From the local community, to annual vacationers, to those that tried our frozen treats, food made with love and our mini-golf…thank you for making this an unforgettable season!

To the hardest working team in the Northwoods, a big thank you! You guys showed up every day with smiles on your faces and rocked it until the door closed at night. A round of applause for these all-stars-

Elizabeth, Ann, Rylie, Joe, Malina, Gavin S., Lawson, Tucker, Kasey, Saima, Alyce and Gavin M. You mean the world to us and will always have a home at the Shanty.

To our family, who thought we were a little crazy when we embarked on this adventure. You believed in us and helped us grow the Shanty into one of the most popular stops in the Northwoods. Simply put, we couldn’t have done this without your love and support.

We hope everyone has a great off-season, wherever your travels take you.

Back to school means a couple things to us…One is the wind down of Shanty season. Our last day for 2025 will be Labor Day at 5pm. The second is Linda’s need to get her classroom set up for her next wave of kindergartners. That said, we’ll be closed this Wednesday, the 27th, and will reopen Thursday morning the 28th, with our regular hours until Labor Day.

We’ve had several requests from those that couldn’t make it up to Boulder Junction for Musky Jamboree last weekend to set up the equipment and fill the neighborhood with the delicious smell of gyro meat being cut fresh off the spit…You’re in luck! This Saturday, August 23rd, we’re going to do just that. We’ll be open as usual from 11 to 10 (grill closing at 9:30), serving up our entire menu, along with our famous gyros, topped with our homemade tzatziki sauce. We’re even going to offer them at a reduced price…one day only. Who knows, this could be the start of an annual GYRO FEST! Hope to see you there!

A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to meet Matt and his daughter, who go around the Midwest to seek out and review soft serve ice cream stands and drive-ins just like ours! Our little place was pointed out by one of his followers on TikTok! So, they decided to pay us a visit (a couple of times) and try an array of items from our menu! We are so grateful for these two and their kind review of The Ice Shanty!

So many wonderful customers and amazing staff make the Ice Shanty what it is- a summer staple where you are always sure to leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face! We love what we do and the people that allow us to do it! Thank you for another wonderful season…so far! We’re not done yet, so be sure to stop by if you’re in town! 🍦

It’s almost the owner, Ron’s, birthday. So, you know what that means?? Time to take his favorite cake and our family birthday tradition and turn it into something special!

Linda is baking up a storm and taking this scratch-made family favorite and blending it together with your choice of creamy vanilla or chocolate soft serve and homemade cream cheese frosting.

We’re not sure if the recipe calls for eighteen carrots or not, but in our book, this one is solid gold!

What screams Wisconsin more than an Old Fashioned?? An Old Fashioned Flurry!!

This week’s flurry is dedicated to the men and women of some of Boulder Junction’s finest establishments. Names such as Sara, Jeremy and Becky come to mind when you’re asking for a round.

To honor all our local mixologists and Wisconsin’s favorite drink, we’ve created our own non-alcoholic old fashioned mix featuring zero-proof whiskey and bitters and swirled it up in our famous soft serve with some cherries and sugar cookies, topped off with the perfect garnish.

Whether it’s a mid-day snack, or hot summer nightcap, this one is sure to please (and no ID required)
