As many of you know, Mike's City Diner chef/owner Jay Hajj was born in Beirut, Lebanon before moving to Boston as a kid.
He flew to his hometown last week to work with World Central Kitchen to help feed the tens of thousands of people who are homeless and hungry in Beirut right now in the wake of that massive explosion earlier this month that rocked the entire city.
The story of Jay's effort appears today in The Boston Globe in his own words. They are feeding upwards of 80,000 people each day. Amazing!
Jay was moved to return to Beirut to help after seeing the terrible images of the devastation of his hometown. There are photos of how bad it looks in this story.
Stay safe, Jay. We're all very proud of you!
After the explosion in Beirut, chef Jay Hajj returns to his hometown to volunteer with World Central Kitchen.
