The Innovation and Design Building The Innovation and Design Building is a 1.4 million sf mixed-use complex in Boston.

The IDB is thoughtfully designed to be a self-sufficient hub that fosters collaboration among community members while embracing technology and change. The Innovation and Design Building is a 1.4 million square foot mixed use complex located in the Innovation District in Boston’s emerging Seaport neighborhood. The eight-story structure was constructed in the early 1900s as a waterside storehouse for the South Boston Army Base. It is conveniently located along the MBTA Silver Line route, just minutes from South Station, and is home to many creative, tech, and manufacturing companies. The complex also houses the Boston Design Center, New England’s premier resource for design professionals, with showrooms featuring over 1,200 luxury product lines of fabric, furniture, lighting, antiques, fine art, wall and floor coverings, and kitchen and bath design and contract services.

Remember the magic of the Scholastic Book Fair? The wish lists, the new book smell, and the very serious decision of which title was coming home with you.

We’re bringing a little of that childhood magic back to IDB today through Thursday, with books for kids of all ages and an even better reason to shop: 50% of all sales will benefit the Joseph P. Tynan Elementary School in South Boston.

Stop by The Lounge at IDB from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, find a favorite for the little reader in your life, and help us turn good memories into something good for our neighborhood.
