KC and the Smokeshack Band-BBQ We are a competitive BBQ team founded in 2011. In our three years of competing, we've won many awards including a Grand Championship.

Well today The Band did a solo gig for our good friends in East Aurora. The menu...12 racks of ribs and 45 # chicken. I'm thankful for the location i got to set up in a spot that was shady for all but 90 minutes. Made a huge difference. Thanks to for another consistent and worry free cook. Oh yeah, I cooked all of this on a standard 270 and an 18" WSM.

First off congrats to Smokin' Hoggz BBQ for their first ever international comp and GC and to Q'n Canucks for the RGC, both of whom git a b**g in the 2017 Jack Daniels! The hardware from the weekend. You all can be jealous. We have a hot dog trophy. And a very large check. Like Happy Gilmore big. Oh, we got a first place in ribs too and a 4th overall. But who cares! We got a hot dog trophy!!! No rest for the weary. It's already time to start prepping for Salamanca which is just 4 days from now.

Judgment has been passed 25 th in chicken 34th in ribs (we knew they weren't that good) 47th in pork ( head scratcher there) 23rd in brisket (wtf?) Overall 35th out of 50. Congrats to Insane Swine for the GC and old Virginia smoke for the RGC. The band is packed up and headed home. Stay tuned for rhe next tour update.
