To our community,

Over the past few days, our hearts and prayers have been with the family and loved ones of
Giovanni Bala, the young man whose life was tragically taken in the municipal parking lot
adjacent to our building. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all
who are mourning this devastating loss.

We recognize that many members of our community are grieving, searching for answers, and expressing strong emotions. It is a difficult time for many, and we recognize the weight of this moment. We understand that pain, and we respect it.

In the days following the tragedy, we reached out privately to the family, visited them to offer our condolences and support, and paid our respects. Out of respect for both the family and the ongoing investigation, we chose not to make an immediate public statement.

For more than two decades, Restaurante Cesaria has been part of this community. Giovanni and many members of his family and friends have supported our restaurant throughout the years; and we remain grateful for that support. Today, we ask everyone to
respect the family’s privacy and to extend compassion for a family enduring an unimaginable loss. As a part of this community, we await more information and ways we can support the Bala Family. Please keep Giovanni’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
