📣 I am thrilled to share some exciting news and introduce you all to the new General Manager of Tonino: Jessica Gooch! 📣

We met Jess soon after we opened doors as one of our first regulars. Living in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood, she would stop at Tonino on her way home from work and wait in our little nook with her book and a 🍹 until a table opened up. Jess understood the nightly dining room table “Tetris” since she played the game herself as General Manager at the beloved . Over the past year, we developed a friendly discourse and when it was time to start looking for a new General Manager, Jess was the first person that came to mind.

Sharing our ethos and values, along with our commitment to honest cooking and warm hospitality, Jess will be joining the Tonino team full-time in March. Please introduce yourself! 👋

With Tonino up and running and a fantastic team in place, I will be leaving Tonino to return to .koji.club_ Boston’s first and only sake bar. With exciting projects taking shape on The Koji Club horizon and a great General Manager to pass the proverbial torch to, the time has come for me to assume a new role at Tonino: #1 Cheerleader, rooting from the sidelines 🙌

I am deeply grateful to have witnessed so many dates, family dinners, and celebrations; to have met so many of my JP neighbors; to have shared so many laughs with first-timers and regulars alike. And am grateful that Jess now gets the pleasure to experience the same thing ✨

David’s commitment to Jamaica Plain runs deep, actively shaping the cultural and culinary landscape of our beloved neighborhood, including As a long-time resident and community advocate, takes pride in offering guests delicious food and drink, along with warm hospitality.

But David’s impact doesn’t stop there – he’s not just a restaurateur but also a rocket enthusiast! 🚀 Launching a model rocketry club at Little Dipper and collaborating with MA non-profits and schools, he’s blazing trails in STEAM education for local youth.

What better way to kick off the new year than to celebrate not one but two birthdays 🥳

Today we are sake toasting to our very own co-owner and general manager, 🧸🤍 Claire fills the dining room every night with her radiant warmth and infectious energy that have made feel like home to us all. Our team is inspired by her dedication to service and creative guiding light.

As we dive into a new year, we’re grateful for Claire’s invaluable contributions and the magic she brings to our community✨

If you are one of the many that’s been asking for pasta to-go: NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!

We partnered with Table22 to bring you fresh pasta, off-menu specials, and signature dishes right to your door (yep, they even offer delivery! 🚗💨).

Memberships are limited to start (there’s only a few left- thank you loyal Tonino Regulars, seeing your names warmed my heart oh so much this morning 🫶) but we will open up more slots over the next few months so add your name to our waitlist!

Mark your calendars! is crossing the river to bring their beautiful wares to Jamaica Plain. From 11-3pm, Tonino will transform into a Myrth Holiday Shop to help us get our holiday shopping done the good old-fashioned way: in person!

The Cheesecake: Luke’s grandmother’s ricotta cheesecake recipe, straight from the well-loved index card!

To this day, Luke’s mother makes The Cheesecake for special occasions. Light and fluffy, the ricotta filling defies gravity. A drizzle of lemon EVOO, a sprinkle of fennel pollen and a homemade biscotti crust are the closest we’ll get to taking liberties with such a special recipe ✨

The Tonino team might already love it, but the true taste test remains: Luke is bringing this to Thanksgiving at his Mom’s for the final stamp of approval! 🤞

🍁 Hiyaoroshi Season has arrived! 🍁

Traditionally, sake breweries begin brewing in Fall and wrap production in the Spring. While the arrival of Springtime’s new blooms 🌸 and warmer weather is celebrated with cups of super-fresh, unpasteurized Namazake, a small allotment is pasteurized once, then cold-stored over summer for release in the fall This process (generally) allows the sake to develop a delicate umami backbone, giving it a depth that pairs perfectly with Fall’s abundant produce.

Hiyaoroshi is a stunning example of Japan’s deep respect and celebration of the seasons. To be enjoyed as the days get shorter, the nights cooler, and our foods heartier 🍁

Our small Hiyaoroshi allotment (pre-ordered all the way back in May!) just arrived and we can not wait to pour you the first taste this weekend (plus a few other fun new treats!)
