Today would have been Gus's birthday.

As many of you know, Gus wasn't just the owner of Romio's. He was a friend, mentor, familiar face, and part of the daily lives of so many people in our community. His passion for good food, hard work, family, and taking care of people helped build Romio's into something much more than a restaurant.

While we deeply miss him, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and friendships he shared with all of us. We know many of you have your own stories of Gus, and we hope you'll share them with us today as we celebrate his life and legacy.

As we move forward, our commitment is to honor what Gus built. The restaurant will continue serving the community he loved, guided by the values he lived every day: treating people like family, working hard, and always putting customers first.

Thank you for the continued support, kindness, and encouragement you've shown the Georgilakis family, our staff, and the restaurant during this difficult time.

Happy Birthday, Gus. We miss you, and your legacy lives on every day at Romio's.

Our Brother and Dear Friend, Gus Georgilakis, a beloved son, brother, uncle, restaurant owner, mentor, loyal friend, and cherished part of the Boise community, passed away on May 15, 2026.

Gus touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, generosity, and the genuine way he cared for everyone around him. Through Romio’s, he built not just a restaurant, but a family of staff, customers, and lifelong friends who meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed by his family, employees, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
