It seems like it wasn't very long ago we were just re-painting and reopening the restaurant together! 💜

KYOTO FB POST Before we introduce a very special individual. We wanted to announce that we are now accepting applications for many positions as we prepare to re-open the restaurant. We are well known for being a non-hostile and very caring business who takes care of our staff. We view our staff as career individuals and focus on how we can provide a happy workplace and rewarding career growth. We LOVE food as it is our passion and will only serve a menu that we can stand behind and support 100%. Kyoto has always fit that bill, and we are glad to have this opportunity to carry forward a legendary restaurant. We are located in Boise.

We are accepting positions for Line cooks, Sushi Chefs, Hibachi Chefs, Bussers, Dishwashers and Servers. Experience is preferred, but not required. For chefs, if you are interested in furthering your career as a Hibachi or Sushi chef but have no experience in that area we are interested in individuals with 2+yrs of experience in the kitchen. Our chefs will train you on our trade.

Say hello to Chef Remy AKA Uncle Remy. Chef Remy has been a career chef of 24+ years at Kyoto from the original owner, the previous owners, and he is now heading our Teppanyaki division as our Executive Chef as we gear up for a re-opening. Uncle Remy is the godfather to my two sisters and is an amazing individual and has always been there for the family ever since i could remember. He has the most amazing work ethic and we are grateful to work side-by-side with him. He is very ecstatic for the changes we are making as he looks forward to a revitalized Kyoto. He asked what we were doing with the hallway and we said: "painting it", he immediately responded "let me go get my hat." 😂

To our amazing customers,

With a heavy heart, we share with you the heartbreak we began to experience mid-way last year. Chef Remy had become very ill and it quickly progressed within months. Before we could catch our breaths we lost Chef Remy. We were caught off guard and all very saddened from our loss.

We apologize for not informing everyone immediately, we are a very private family. After taking some time for ourselves to grieve, our family decided it was time to let you know. For our customers who found out from visiting us at the restaurant, thank you for your condolences. It means the world to us. We appreciate the kind words and the stories and memories you share with us.

Remy was the heart and soul of Kyoto, cooking for customers for over 30 years with love and laughter.

We re-opened Kyoto together in 2022 and he was ecstatic to start anew with a fresh remodel. We joined hands with other amazing chefs, cooks, servers, managers, dishwashers, hosts, and everyone else in between. We created a family dynamic within our establishment that is absolutely unique. We fought the hard battles with blood, sweat, and tears. We talked about it often, how we have amazing customers, the ones who loved Remy, the ones who cared about Kyoto.

In honor of Chef Remy we know we have to continue his legacy. We have a chef in training, chef Leemon, who stepped up in the time of need. You have shown him tremendous grace and support, and for that we are so appreciative.
