The name comes from George Wilkins Kendall, a newspaperman who came to Texas in the 1850s and raised sheep out here in the Hill Country. Kendall County is named for him, and so is the The Kendall Inn, where these limestone walls have stood since 1859.

Today, the restaurant carries the name forward, connected to The Kendall Inn through shared corridors and shared history, honoring a legacy that has been rooted in this place for nearly two centuries.

For the dads who always gave us the bigger half. This Sunday, we return the favor: a 32 ounce bone-in tomahawk, USDA Prime off the mesquite, with a 6 ounce butter poached lobster tail alongside. Reserve his table for Father's Day.
