If you've never had lunch at Comb Ridge you're missing out. I know I'm biased, but really, it's VERY pleasant. The courtyard is bathed in dappled sunlight, the birds are out, flowers blooming, a slight breeze... And you're in luck because this weekend the ONLY way to get your Comb Ridge fix is to come at lunch - 11:30-4:00 - since we'll be closed for dinner.
Why only lunches this weekend? I don't remember exactly -- made that decision DAYS ago -- but a big reason is that we really love this place on a sunny summer afternoon and want to share it with you.
(I feel like I should clarify the previous statement. While, yes, we are proud of our restaurant and do want you to come and enjoy yourselves, the verb "share" is perhaps a bit misleading. Please bring money.)
And really, what else are you going to do this afternoon? Supposed to be another HOT one; Too hot for hiking, unless you're into getting heatstroke. And although a trip to Cortez for groceries and "supplies" is probably needed, it's a long drive and you're lazy. And hey, what would you rather do, sit in a hot car for hours listening to that one radio station, or sit under the shade of the big cottonwood tree, sipping a drink from our newly expanded beer and wine selection, while nibbling on a pizza, listening to the finches and hummingbirds and the rustling of the leaves?
Yeah, that's what I thought. So come on in this afternoon. Sit. Eat. Drink. Relax and enjoy. Later this afternoon when it's cooler and we're closed, you can get out and be active and/or productive if that's how you really want to spend your weekend (weirdo).
