I have been blessed to have some great conversations about the pantry this week. I spoke to a young woman who has found the pantry a place to ease the worries between having enough to get her through to the next month and feeding her child in the process. It sounds like her struggle is coming to an end. She’s not there yet, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I conversed with another person who reiterated what sacred work we are doing with the pantry. I hadn’t really thought of it that way. I think of it as a destination. I think if it has a steppingstone, I think of it as a place that meets needs, even though we have no idea what those needs may be. Even if we never meet the person who is blessed by the donations that come in. A long time ago during a personal period of struggle it became my mission to give back. To pay it forward for those who were there for me. I had no idea that the process, over the years, would take root in my front yard. I don’t have to pay it forward. I choose to. As does anyone who takes time to donate or promote the pantry. We are a small grassroots effort, driven by kindness. With the belief that it is OK to accept the help that is available. If that help comes in the shape of a can of soup, or a box of cereal or personal hygiene items so be it. You are not alone, we are here for you. Thank you to all who support the pantry. ~be blessed💕

Every donation, no matter how big or small blesses someone in our community.  Someone was kind enough to drop off some fresh fruit in the cooler. Ice blocks have been added to keep them chill. I often have people ask me if people actually use the pantry. That is a resounding yes. The pantry is stocked daily and used daily. Our Amazon wish list makes donating easy. Needs are great as people struggle to make ends meet. One food item at a time, we are making life just a bit easier. Leave what you can, take what you need, spread the word. ~be blessed💕

For a long time I worried the pantry would have way more food than people. For a time it did. Things have shifted. The pantry gets used daily, often multiple times a day. Keeping it stocked has been more of a challenge. We are trying to rise to meet those needs.  Please be mindful of the quantities taken. It is amazing how quickly donations come in and go right back out. Thank you for supporting the pantry, thank you for using the pantry. Together we’re better. ~be blessed💕

Amazon wish list donations, yippee! 🤸Honestly, sometimes I worry that we will have a good variety to put into the pantry. However, the community always comes through. Thank you! Did you know the pantry gets used daily? Sometimes multiple times a day. Cereal flies out the door. Crackers go fast too! Peanut butter and jelly? Can’t keep up with that. Spaghetti & sauce. Baby wipes, cake mix and frosting. I could go on, but you get my point. We are serving others in tangible and in tangible ways. One item at a time. No judgment, just generosity. ~be blessed💕
