ANNOUNCEMENT: Ladies and gentlemen, it is with profound sadness that Kylie and I announce the end of our service as the Peace Arch City Cafe & Bar.
After 15+ years of operation in the Peace Arch City, our final day of service will be Sunday, March 30th, 2025.
Our decision to end service stems from our desire to clear a path towards a potential move to Minnesota to be closer to Kylie's parents who have reached that golden age where they will soon need assistance in their daily routines and chores. It is also driven by my own desire to work less so I can spend more time with our son, John Brian. Business ownership in Blaine's smaller market demands of me 60 to 70 hours per week, and my preference is to spend more time with my wife and son. Our son has grown so quick; how do we slow it down!
Please enjoy our final weeks of operation.
Thank you all, the wonderful citizens of Blaine/Birch Bay Area, for the wonderful memories and incredible friendships. We have been so blessed and fortunate to have had such amazing support and loyalty all these years. And to our Canadian friends who we have not seen in recents months, it is with great sadness that we depart without a chance to say a proper goodbye. We have missed your smiling faces and pleasant banter.
A very special thank you to the Tuski family, who gave us a wonderful opportunity in 2012. Their sale of the Blackberry House led to the establishment of the PACC.
Another very special thank you to Mike and Dea Lynne Mulder, and Karen Trudel, who cleared a path towards ownership of our property, allowing us to control our destiny in the city of Blaine. Mike Mulder, may he continue to rest in peace. His generosity gave us the courage to start our family. We will be forever grateful to the Mulder family!
A generous thank you to RIchard Mollett, who has provided us much needed support for so many years. Richard seeded our purchase of the Blackberry House, establishing the PACC, in 2012. Without that financial backing we would certainly not have had the opportunity to grow our business.
And last, but not least, a generous thank you to Gary and Judy Dunster, who have been our biggest "homers" for 15+ years. Since our very first day of arrival in July, 2009, when we started at the Little Red Caboose, not a day has gone by when we did not see either of their wonderful faces in our humble cafe.
We would like to thank everyone personally but the list is so long, but our wonderful staff, past and present, deserve recognition, especially our manager, Jason Friend, who has helped navigate our efforts and dedicated his loyalty to our operation for 13 years.
Thank you all for such a wonderful experience in our life's adventure, and thank you for allowing us to share our efforts and service all these wonderful years.
