The exterior windows and doors are getting a much needed refresh this week!! Take a peek when you’re downtown!

Photo one is the original dining room for The McKenzie Hotel.
Photo 2 was taken by Jim Christianson in the early 1980s when he bought the building and this space was no longer in use.
Notice the light fixtures? Turns out Jim still has them (photo 3) and we plan to do everything we can do to bring them back to their original glory and hang them in the dining room once again!
Now I need to find that wallpaper mural that was on the walls… it’s stunning!

Most of you have been so awesome and supportive so far so here’s your first (and not the last) chance to help us make some important decisions! This stone goes all the way around the walls in the lounge. We believe it’s original to the building and therefore more than 100 years old. The problem is, it looks awful. It’s stained and broken and has not cleaned up! What would you do?!

In 2027 this space will become The Cellar!

We found another doorway behind some old shelves 😮 Have you ever heard of the legendary Silver Ballroom above Dakota Stage Theater?!?! Well, Stephen was there and we found him up this old staircase made for people with toddler sized feet. Let’s reconnect all of Downtown!! 🥂

Follow up to our viral wall smashing video! The doorway is now OPEN so you will be able to travel from the bar in the basement to the bar and dining room upstairs and back! (Don’t worry, we are going to make these stairs look awesome)… 😎

Someone here has to know the answer to this… what used to be here?! These accent areas have these Formica panels now, but looking at the trim and detail around them, I can’t help but think there may have been something different here at one point. My guess is glass or mirrors. Anybody know? Or better yet, have an old photo?!
