🐟 There's STILL TIME to Register for the 4th Annual Children's Snapper Derby! 🐟
We invite you to register for the 4th Annual Children’s Snapper Derby, taking place at the famed Bluefish Tournament on Sunday, September 20th, 2026 at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay!
Open to children ages 14 and under, this fun family event provides a great opportunity to introduce children to the wonderful recreational sport of fishing.
The Snapper Derby will take place during the Bluefish Tournament between the hours of 7:30AM and 12PM by the fishing pier at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. Participants are invited to bring their own equipment as supplies are limited.
The Derby will feature two age categories, 7 and under and 8 through 14, with trophies and prizes awarded to the top three fishermen in each category. There will be door prizes and raffles, with raffles beginning at 12:30PM. Participants must be present to win.
The event will also feature arts and crafts, face painting, tattoos, bounce houses and so much more! A tailgate will be available for children registered for the Snapper Derby.
You can register at www.oysterbaytown.com/sports or by visiting participating bait stores, including Causeways in Wantagh, Duffy’s Bait and Tackle in Glenwood Landing, and Hi-Hook in Huntington.
In-person registration will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 8AM to 5PM on the Town of Oyster Bay Showmobile at Roosevelt Beach in Oyster Bay. Registration will be available the morning of the tournament as well.
