As most of you know, we sold our property to Morganelli Properties who is in the process of remodeling the building for their use (see attached post here). We still can’t believe that we were in business for 33 years. During those 33 years we met a lot of wonderful people and we wanted to thank them all.

So we start with our wonderful customers who supported and encouraged us all along. Some of them were even brave to try some of our creations that they had never tasted before. Our customers came from near and far and also came about indirectly as we supplied many restaurants and caterers.

Next we wanted to thank all the wonderful employees we had - you all were amazing and we really couldn’t have done it without you. I know that at times I wasn’t the easiest to work for but hopefully it wasn’t too bad. Again, Thank you from Ro and I.

Our suppliers were the best and we wanted to thanks them for working with us. We actually had some vendors and suppliers for over 25 years and every spring we would turn back new sales persons even though they were cheaper. We did this because of relationships which we valued more. This also included our banking relationships as they were very helpful during our 33 years - especially during Covid when additionaly the Northampton County, City of Bethlehem and the LV Chamber of Commerce helped us with financial help.

We also wanted to thank all those responsible for the City Services - Police, Fire, Inspections and especially the Health Department who got us our vaccines before our health providers could and the Restaurant license inspectors who assisted us with Servsafe licensing and training. Small Businesses need all the help it can get.

Then there were quite a few special customers who would help us with impromptu little errands (like changing our tube lights as it’s not safe for us old people to be on a ladder), or give us travel ideas or recommend handyman or car or home repair services. A special thank you to those who helped when I had my heart surgery - you are all the best.

Finally we wanted to thank everyone we have not specifically mentioned. We don’t mean to exclude anyone as we are indebted to you all for all the thirty three years.

We also wanted to acknowledge the great job done by our realtor LUCY LENNON with Morganelli Properties and recommend her for any real estate transaction you may have. Some of you may not know but Mr Joshi was a realtor at one time and we had tried to sell our business and property on our own. Well ,after much frustration, we decided to hire a professional realtor as we were getting overwhelmed. We were also getting ridiculous offers from some not so honest realtors who were telling us that our business / property is not selling as it is overpriced and had a ready buyer for almost $200,000 less. So if you are looking for an HONEST, no nonsense realtor who will have your best interest and tell you like it is - you need to hire LUCY LENNON.
Answering many who have suggested other business related options- we are done with working - no we are not setting up equipment at home and making and supplying ice cream from home - it’s dangerous and illegal too. Neither are we doing mail order etc. However, Actually, an interesting idea which has been in the back of my mind and did come back to us while we stopped for Ice Cream while driving in the country side yesterday. What do you think of the tag line - ‘one lick says it all’. As we love to travel we could be circling America rating all the homemade ice cream places out there as we have that expertise. But then we would have to spend a long time away from our families - naaah!
Another thing I wished to share is that it will be 50 years for our family living in USA. We came here as penniless refugees and all of us siblings and my parents have had very successful and fulfilling lives thru sheer determination and hard work. We are shocked to see the suffering our fellow humans are experiencing the world over. We pray and wish these problems subsides and we can all live in peace and harmony. Please, this is not a political post so refrain from making it one.

It was a bittersweet moment for our family today. We sold our business property and most of the ice cream store equipment and this picture was taken right before us walking to the Lawyer’s office for the settlement appointment.
While we were sad that we were not able to sell our business and property to someone who would have carried on our amazing creation - it is what it is. However, we are extremely happy for the buyers who will make this corner shine again soon.
We believe the new buyers will be even more successful here and we wish the best for them.
We still own The business name ‘Nuts About Ice Cream’ , the unique recipes we created here, our social media presence and our reputation to make only the best all natural products.
Finally, talking about the BEST - we had the Best most supportive customers one could have. Our family collectively appreciates the 33 years of support we have received from you all. Till we meet again, Stay well and Stay Safe.

So we can pretty much confirm that my Wife and I will not be returning this spring to open for our 34 th year. The writing is on the wall, Literally! It makes us sad that we were not able to transition our business to someone to carry our creation forward. It was not for the lack of trying - we were ready to help the next owners but we couldn’t finance the sale of the business or rent the property to them. We wanted a clean break and assurance of an easy transition as this is part of our retirement portfolio.

Lot of you knew that we have been trying to retire for years and had our business and property for sale for years. So by decoupling our business from the property we were able to market our premium location property on its own. More news to come as things get finalised on that.

Till then, we have all our equipment and supplies for sale and have a few weeks to clear it out. You may have seen some of it for sale online. As the equipment is older we have it seriously discounted even though it’s in good shape ( especially if you consider the price of a new one that is if you can get it). Here is a list of what we still have and is available - what doesn’t sell will go to charities in the Lehigh Valley - hence the rational behind the asking prices. Please note everything is sold as is and to whoever brings Cash First. We cannot hold things as we have found people to not show up.
Reasonable offers are welcome and any legal certified non profits are welcome to any of this if they provide a donation letter for the mentioned value.

So we have had some disappointed customers that we did not stay till Christmas like years past. However, to be honest the streets around us have been torn up for a few weeks (since our last day on 11/20/21) to replace gas and water lines which I was told was unplanned. Our point is even if We had stayed open we would have had issues making it hard and unsafe for our customers to pick up their orders.

On another note we have listed all our ice cream business and or equipment up for sale. We plan to retire and would be very happy if you wanted to move our business and or equipment to your place. Please PM /IM us for details.

As most of you know we have been trying to sell our business and property and retire. All along we have been promoting that one could bring their current food business and coexist with the ice cream shop due to the space available here.
It seems that while many of you have expressed interest, it’s still a tall order for you to purchase our property AND the business. We have now decided to uncouple the two entities- the property and the business. We realize that you may have your own location and wish to add the ice cream business there.

So for those of you interested we will sell you the business in the format below:
1. The whole business- equipment, recipes, knowledge, websites, multi media marketing, training, wholesale and retail customer lists, startup support and business consulting.
Or
2. Just the equipment which you will move to your location.

Either way if interested please inquire with us. Please share with your family and friends.

Even though we had planned for today to be our last day of the season, we couldn’t make it. We were sold out yesterday (actually Friday) and hence have nothing to sell.
So it will be the end of two seasons of operating minimally. We only did curb side pickup of pints for these two seasons and managed to barely survive. We lost a lot of customers who wanted more than pints but we also gained many new customers who appreciated the fact that we put people before profits.
So we won’t be open today as we have nothing to sell. Our sincerest apologies to customers we couldn’t take care of at the end. We wish you all a safe winter and thank you for your support. Stay safe and well and enjoy the holidays with your friends and families!

Due to circumstances beyond our control we will be closed today. We had a water main break a block down the street and today we have UGI digging up all the connections down each street around us. So the roads are closed across from Liberty High School and it’s impossible to get to us unless you walk the last two blocks through a construction zone. To keep you and us safe we are closed today! Reopen on Wednesday 11/17/21. Thanks and Stay safe!

For Hindus the world over, this year Diwali falls on Thursday November 4th 2021. However, typically families get a chance to get together during the prior or following weekend. For our family, we will celebrate partly tomorrow as our daughter and son in law will travel to visit us this weekend. Hence we will be closed tomorrow and on Thursday November 4th.
