Amaro Highlight: Amaro Averna ☀️
Amaro Averna is best known as the substituted ingredient needed for the ever delicious Black Manhattan. A bittersweet amaro, it has rich flavors of caramel, rosemary, and juniper on the palate and is slightly sweet and herbal on the nose.
Originally made in 1868 by Benedictine Monks, the recipe was gifted to Salvatore Averna in thanks for his commitment to the local community and later mass produced by his descendants in Siciliy.
