Today is World Refugee Day. There are currently 117 million forcibly displaced people around the world. 42.5 million of those are refugees; meaning they have had to seek safety outside their country of origin.

At 1951 Coffee, we have partnered with USA for UNHCR to launch our 75th Anniversary Blend to commemorate the 1951 Refugee Convention and to help raise funds to support our efforts locally and to help raise vital funds for USA for UNHCR’s global mission.

While not an original signature to the 1951 Refugee Convention, since 1980 the US had been one of the leading countries involved in refugee protection and resettlement. Questions remain if the US will continue to be a part of these global humanitarian efforts.
