As many of you have already heard, Mokka's last day of business will be next Thursday, June 2. Susan and I want to thank everyone for making the past 10 years especially rewarding. We might not miss the early morning alarm, but we will miss the wonderful people we have met throughout the years. We wish nothing but the best for everyone!!

Thank you to the great people we have had as our employees. Day in and day out, they have been the best. We wouldn't have lasted a week without you!

Our Spring Susan has sprung!

To celebrate nearly 10 great years of business we’re revisiting memories with some of your favorite former baristas!
Laurie (6/12-6/13):
I'm in Santa Cruz these days and loving it! I'm the Outreach and Development Manager for a nonprofit here - the Coastal Watershed Council - and we're working on an urban river revitalization project. It's a lot of fun because some days I'm geeking out over fish and water quality and other days I'm putting on huge arts festivals along the river.

It's hard to pick a favorite Mokka memory. Overall, it brings a smile to my face thinking about all of my awesome co-workers - Mari, Jenny, Bekkah, Amanda, Inara, Mika and so many others.

In celebration of nearly 10 great years of business we want to thank our loyal customers, and have asked them to share their favorite Mokka memories too!
Jude McKay-For me Mokka has been a sort of community and at times a family.
Special thanks for hosting my very first sculpture exhibit after hours - and the great party that followed!
My favorite memories:
Mornings at Mokka
Night nurses coming off shift – tired but happy to chat over breakfast before they go home to sleep.
Professionals from the medical buildings, and lots of others in their business clothes heading for work.
Moms and Dads and children stop by for a cup of hot chocolate and a pastry before being dropped off at school.
Retired people from the neighborhood come daily for breakfast, coffee and to read the newspaper.
Students set up their laptops against the windows and stay for hours.
Business meetings at the big corner table (pharmacists, Hospice nurses and others).
I especially loved getting to know the young baristas who are also artists, musicians, students, writers and seekers. It is amazing how it brightens my day to talk with them for a few minutes every morning.
