🎉 It’s official… our very first Pet Food Pantry is now open! 🐾❤️

This project has been a dream for quite some time, and today we’re so excited to finally share it with our community.

A huge thank you goes to the incredible owners of Steelwheel corner for believing in this mission and becoming the very first host location for our Pet Food Pantry. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to launch!

As the only animal resource and 501(c)(3) rescue serving Polk County, Safe Haven Animal Rescue Program (SHARP) was just as excited as we were to bring this vision to life. Their generous donation of over $1,000 made it possible to purchase, wrap, and prepare these pantry boxes to begin serving our community.

Another big thank you to Outfront Wraps for creating such a beautiful, eye-catching design. You truly gave this project a face, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

🐶 A few things to know about the Pet Food Pantry:

This pantry is meant to be supplemental assistance, not a weekly source of food. We know that life can throw unexpected challenges our way, and sometimes our pets are the ones who suffer because of it. Our hope is that this little box helps bridge that gap during difficult times.

The pantry isn’t just for food! Donations can also include:
🐾 Treats
🐾 Collars & leashes
🐾 Toys
🐾 Clothing
🐾 Other pet supplies

Our motto is simple:
Take what you need. Leave what you can. ❤️

If you’re donating, we ask that:
• Food is bagged and sealed.
• Individual bags are no larger than 5 pounds.
• If the pantry is full, please message us instead of leaving donations outside. We want to help keep the area clean and respect Steelwheel Corner’s property.

If you stop by and the gate happens to be closed, you’re still welcome to walk in and access the pantry.

Although it’s designed similarly to a community blessing box, this pantry is for pet supplies only.

We’re always looking for donations to help keep the pantry stocked and this project growing. Every bag of food, toy, collar, treat, or monetary donation helps us continue serving pets and their families throughout Polk County.

We’re also searching for future host locations in Polk County! Our goal is to have Pet Food Pantries available throughout the county, with downtown Benton being our next target. If you’re a local business owner or know one who might be interested in hosting a box we would love to hear from you!

Not in Polk County, but still want to help? We would love to bring a cardboard box to fill with donations that then can be picked up and brought to locations!

Lastly, the biggest favor you can do for us costs absolutely nothing…

🧡 Something we’ve been quietly working on is finally ready…

This July, Soul Healing Canine will officially launch our very first Community Pet Pantry!

This project was created with one simple belief:
Bad times shouldn’t have to mean empty bowls.

Just like a community blessing box, this pantry is here to provide supplemental pet food and supplies for families who may be facing a difficult season. While we can’t promise it’ll always be full, we can promise we’ll do everything we can to keep it stocked with the help of this incredible community.

A huge thank you goes to Safe Haven Animal Rescue Program (SHARP) for believing in this vision and sponsoring our first two pantry boxes, and to Steelwheel corner for becoming the very first host location. Community projects like this only happen because people choose to come together.

Our hope is simple: to help keep pets with the families who love them while reminding people that it’s okay to need a helping hand sometimes.
