House pancake, brown butter, candied hazelnuts, cream cheese frosting. Named for the girl this whole place is named after. Tomorrow would have been her birthday, so she’s on the menu now, permanently.

6 years ago life was different. Almost her 1st birthday and she was running around all over the place. So full of s***k, trouble, adventure and everything in between. She was a wild 1 year old and sure kept us on our toes. Thankful for the memories from Snapchat to be able to relive as though she was still here and creating more chaos. We love and miss you so much sweet angel.

May you all continue to enjoy learning about her, and thank you for sharing in our story and for all the love, support, and encouragement this week.

Tomorrow is National Dog Day, and we already know how we’re spending it.

Our favorite picture of Hazel is Christmas morning, leaning back against our dog Thor, reading her book. The two of them just settled into each other, completely comfortable, like they’d worked out something the rest of us were still figuring out. They were besties. Thor was her spot.

We are still in the middle of her birthday week, and tomorrow the calendar handed us the perfect way to spend it. So tomorrow is for the dogs. Bring your pup through and we’ll grab them a pup cup, because the ones who love us like that deserve a little something too.

And since it’s Wednesday, kids eat 50% off with the purchase of an adult meal. Bring the whole crew, four legged ones included.

Day one of Hazel’s birthday week.

She loved all things food. Everything. Mac and cheese, cookies, and yes, the occasional rock straight off the driveway. That girl ate with her whole heart.

So today is for the little ones who eat like she did. A kids pancake and egg, with a whipped cream and chocolate chip face, because breakfast should smile back. And while the kids dig in, mom and dad can munch on breakfast tacos. It is Taco Tuesday after all.

This little girl is the reason we exist. Her name is Hazel Jane. HJ. Hay Jay.

August 30th is her birthday, so this whole week we are spending it the way we spend every day here, doing the thing she made us want to do. Feeding people. Making a place worth coming back to.

We are going to celebrate her all week long. Part of that means daily deals, and we will announce a new one every morning right here on our page. So follow along, check in with us each morning, or just swing by and ask a barista or server what today’s is.

Tonight though, it is just her. Happy birthday week, Hazel girl. August has always been yours. We love you and miss you. We hope she brightens your day the way she brightens ours.

18 pounds of butter. That was the answer.

Yesterday we asked how much butter Nikole would go through, and the winning guess nailed it. The proof is on the board: pumpkin scone, cinnamon roll, monster cookie, brown butter pecan pie bar, and a nutella cookie. Plus 6 dozen buttery biscuits that didn’t even make the photo.
