Little Makana Shave Ice Little Makana Shave Ice is a mobile shave ice and cotton candy vendor based out of Bend, Oregon. We would love to meet you and hear your story.

In 2016 I surprised my husband with a trip to Maui to celebrate our anniversary. While we were there we enjoyed delicious Hawaiian shave ice on a daily basis and realized the experience was much more than syrup over ice. The island culture shined through as we interacted with each friendly and personable server. Upon coming back to Oregon, we decided that we wanted to replicate not only the delici

ous treat but also the experience we had. Meaning “gift” in Hawaiian, Makana to us symbolizes our mission for our little food trailer in that:

- we want each customer to receive the gift of friendly, personable and fast service
- we want you and your mouth with every bite to enjoy the gift you have given it
- we want to gift organizations in our community a percentage of each purchase

Look for Little Makana trailer around Bend and at events in Central Oregon.

When Jeff and I (Kelsie) started this business in 2017 we had two little kids. We were just starting a family and a business. We didn't know what the next few years would hold. We loved getting to know the people of Central Oregon in a new way by serving you our delicious shave ice.

Skip forward to 2020... what a year that was. It brought us our fourth child... a girl finally! And also many more life changes. We weren't sure what would become of Little Makana. We knew that the time was closing for our season in this business. With four little kids and a vacation rental to manage, we didn't have the time to invest in this as we wanted.

Just a few weeks ago we met a wonderful family. Their son Simon and daughter Geneva have decided to purchase Little Makana and make it their own! We are so excited to support these two high school kids in their new entrepreneurial adventure. We hope that you guys as a community will welcome them as you did us.

So as sad as it is for us to let go of this little business we are so excited for you guys! Because... Little Makana will be up and running for the 2021 season. We are working on training Simon and Geneva so that they can sling some stellar ice for you guys. Watch for them at events... and contact them here or at [email protected] if you have any places that you want to see them this season and in the years to come.
