🍧💛 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! 💛🍧

Today, M celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with not one — but two amazing events! 🎉

He shared his paletas at the City of Temple’s National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and then at the Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Travis Science Academy! 🇲🇽✨

M loved learning about Hispanic culture, music, and traditions — and of course, spreading smiles with his paleta cart along the way. 🍓🍍🥭

It’s been a while since M has sold his paletas! But last night, he was invited out to The Ultimate Selena Experience and he had a blast! He worked hard and almost completely sold out!

He met his goal and was able to buy himself and his little brother some awesome toys! Thank you to everyone who supported him! And thank you City of Temple for having us! We love seeing M learn about the value of hard work! ❤️

At M’s last event, he asked his little brother to help him hand out business cards. We had a talk about what it means to employ people to help him in his business. After the event, the first purchase he made was a Pikachu toy for his brother as his “payment”. M’s little brother wouldn’t stop hugging the Pikachu.

We love these opportunities to teach the boys about how businesses help others and instills work ethic. 🥰

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported M tonight at the Ultimate Selena Experience! He sold out in less than an hour! 🙌🏼

He worked hard and made enough to reach his goals! 👏🏼 As always, he will tithe 10%, spend about 40% on his toys and save the rest!

M had another great life lesson this weekend. He ran in his first competitive race! And he won! 👏🏼

M was so excited for this race. He picked out running shoes, he practiced running the distance beforehand, he ate healthy meals, he drank plenty of water, and stretched before the race.

While we were proud of his win, we took time after the race to explain that the win usually goes to the person who is most prepared. We reminded him of everything he did to prepare for this race. In the same way, if entrepreneurs want to be successful, they must be prepared in order to succeed.

Today M had soccer practice in the rain. It would’ve been easy for a three year old cry or hide under the tent. It would’ve been easy for us, as parents to skip practice altogether. But, we are raising tough kids who appreciate challenges. M might’ve been soaked, but he got in a good practice and he’s building resilience at the same time.

Successful people are willing to do things that others are not. There is a benefit to pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. Training M to follow through despite the conditions he’s dealt is a valuable life lesson.
