We are getting close! Hood was dropped off Thursday, just waiting for install. Unfortunately, we do have some major plumbing issues needing addressed. We are really hopeful that can be handled this week.

In the meantime, I’ve been testing and re-testing and tasting…so much tasting…..and I’m very excited to say, the cold brew has been nailed. It’s been a long time since The Coffee Bar days so I wasn’t sure I could do it. Guys….it’s SO good! We can not WAIT to share this with you!

I realized today I haven’t posted an update for a while! Guys….we’ve been busting our arses down here! Almost ready to install equipment on the inside, outside will be finished in a few days, then just have to wait for the hood. (And wait…and wait…) I can’t count the number of days we’ve had to wake up saying “I can do hard things. I can do hard things!” However, when we see how far it’s come, we know it’s going to be so worth it!

Okay, we need help! We are looking for someone with extensive experience in laying block. This is not a big job, just a hole in the block wall of the building that needs fixed before we can have the new hood installed. It will need taken care of in the next couple of days. Please comment or tag anyone you might know who might be able to help!

When I say ‘turn key’ I don’t think I could make this little business anymore turn key than what it is. I could hand the keys over today and you could be running it tomorrow!!!

Five years ago today, I married this man, but the story started long before. There’s just something about knowing someone your whole life. A familiarity. A shared base reality. The comfort that you knew this person long before they were on your radar. A deep well of time you constantly pull from that creates so many laughs and special moments. Not to say these things only exist when you’ve known someone forever, but there is definitely something very special about it. Existing with this man is effortless for me. When things are easy and when things are hard. And we have had our share of hard! He is strong, determined and no matter how he feels, never ever complains. (Middle aged man noises do not count as complaining 😂). HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Babe!

You can’t see it with the video sped up so fast, but fun fact about me….I am absolutely terrified of wasps. Irrationally but unapologetically, TERRIFIED. When I say this with such drama, please understand, I go from the most organized, rational, 10 steps ahead brain activity as a baseline, to I will legitimately dive off of an 8 foot ladder if a wasp comes into my sight line without even thinking about the possibility of severely injuring myself before jumping. So several times during this video, I disappeared. There was a wasp. It would not go away. At one point I heard it swoop at my head while squatting. I threw myself upward and back as if I were a much younger woman, landing a few feet away right on my butt and rolling backward onto my back. All this during a pretty busy time on Emerson. So, to anyone who witnessed this, you’re welcome. I’ll be sitting on ice for the near future.
