On a recent trip to Kenosha WI we had the privilege to to stay at the Stella Hotel & Ballroom. Inside we chose to dine for dinner at The 1844 Table & Mash. This is described as a modern style supper club. My wife and I had a before dinner drink at the bar and I had a Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned. Very good and not what I typically order. I was also amazed at the Bourbon collection they had behind the bar! There were a couple large dinner parties but, otherwise kind of a quiet night. We were shocked that our bartender seated us and was our server as well. He did a phenomenal job taking care of us and the bar both! Whether they were short staffed or just an off night our service was great! 👍 👍The manager was also hands on helping serve our dinner and kept checking in with us! We started off with the endless relish bar which was a good start with veggies, crackers, cheese, cheese spread, & olives for $5 a person. We of course had a dinner salad and for our entrees Cheri went with Peppe’s Meatloaf, Augustus had the Chicken Parmesan ( which if on the menu he rarely passes it up), Allister & I had the Prime Rib special. Everything was delicious and great! Cheri’s Meat loaf was a ground beef and sausage blend which she isn’t accustomed to but she said it was alright and couldn’t judge it because she likes traditional meatloaf ( which I make her). On that note I feel she will keep me around.🤷♂️ After dinner Allister always convinces Cheri that they should do a dessert. They had the Apple Galete which was a flaky pastry, apple filling, salted caramel ice cream, & caramel sauce. It looked delicious but I rarely partake not having much of a sweet tooth. I was waiting for an after dinner drink with my wife at the bar and was able to get a bourbon that has been on my list to try for some time….drum roll…Stagg also known as Stagg Jr. and to date is the best bourbon I have had! So if you’re ever in Kenosha and take on 1844 Table & Mash for dinner I hope you find the food and service as great as our experience was here! Cheers
