Fushimi Inari Taisha takes on a completely different atmosphere after sunset. The bright vermilion torii gates stand out against the night sky, while the lanterns around the shrine create a calm, almost timeless feeling.

After rain, the stone paths often reflect the warm lights, adding another layer of beauty without changing the quiet character of the shrine. During the day, thousands of visitors pass through these gates, but later in the evening the pace slows, making it easier to appreciate the details and the peaceful surroundings.

It's one of those places that reminds you how different the same destination can feel depending on the time of day.

Walking through the thousands of vermilion torii gates at Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of those experiences that feels different with every visit. After the rain, the stone path reflects the warm colors of the gates, while the quieter atmosphere makes even familiar views feel fresh.

Each torii has been donated by individuals or businesses, with the donor's name and date traditionally written on the back. Together, they create the iconic pathways that wind their way up Mount Inari.
