Good morning, GBCO families,

I want to apologize for anyone who tried to come in before 7:10am this morning. A staff member was unable to get in with the new key I gave her and I only found out when I called her at 6:50. I sent my daughter with my key and we’re open now.

If you were through before we were open, please accept my deepest apologies.

We’re open for business now! 💕☕️

EDIT: The water has completely receded, so we’re good to go! Come on in and say HI! ☕️

Good morning, GBCO family (customers),

We received a message from a customer that the Green Beans Coffee truck is underwater, which means that the parking lot is underwater, I’m assuming.

I will post updates when I know more.

I hope everybody is safe. Please be careful on the roads! We appreciate you all so much.!

Due to current scheduling conflicts, I’m looking for someone who has open availability, and can work anywhere between 12-38 hours/week.

If interested, please reach out to Angela at [email protected] with your resume and when you’re available to meet for an interview (will have to be weekends as I’m also a full time teacher). 😊

09/13/2026

UPDATE: THESE ARE ALL STILL AVAILABLE - nobody came to look/pick one up. First come first served, all must go by Saturday morning as new ones will be coming in. 😉

Any college students need used sofas? I am getting rid of four sofas in my Cafe and replacing them with newer ones.. .

4 two-seaters… two more worn than the other two - FREE FREE FREE!!

* Only 1-2 per day can be picked up (between 6am-2:30pm) as we need seating and new ones will be moved in at 2 per evening.

Whatever is left on Thursday will be donated to the Airman’s Attic or to a charity that works with homeless vets. ❤️

We want all to really check in with what Green Beans Coffee truly means. I hope you all see GBC as more than just a cafe. It is us being a part of a community - with every single one of you!

This is our way of serving OUR people. We’re hoping that by smiling, showing kindness, sharing a laugh, or listening to a story with our customers it sets us apart from other businesses.

In the words of Kirstyn - my oldest and a face of GBCO since we opened in 2014 - to our staff:

“…get to know them, make them feel that you are excited when they keep coming back (if you haven't already!). We truly have some WONDERFUL, LOYAL, and DEDICATED customers. And if you really immerse yourself in this community and let it happen, you may just feel family start to grow wider 💚💙
We may not have served for our country, but we are serving in a different way. We are serving our community!

In addition, tomorrow is a very important day. As we mark 25 years since 9/11, we will be holding a moment of silence (this will happen for a full minute) at the cafe tomorrow at 7:46am. 7:46am(CST) signifies the time the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. I will be putting up signs inside the store, at the drive-thru speaker, and drive-thru window so our customers are aware of what will be happening during this time. I will also make an announcement to everyone who is in the cafe.
During these 60 seconds, please stop what you are doing, and tune into what happened this day and reflect. We will remember and never forget the 2,977 people we lost that day.”

THIS is what Green Beans Coffee Omaha is about - we’re “in it for the mission, not for the money,” as John used to say, and we CHERISH our customers, our military, and our first responders.

We wear RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) on Fridays to honor our deployed military and our veterans.

From here on, if you come into the café wearing a “RED” shirt , you’ll receive 10% off your purchase!

Tonight we were invited to attend the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce dinner and awards ceremony.
John made such an amazing impact as a businessman, an airmen, a family man and a friend.
The Bellevue Chamber Unanimously voted to present him with the Silver Arrow Award...recognizing his commitment to the community.
It was a beautiful tribute to a man that was so humble and never thought he deserve recognition for just doing what he loved.

UPDATE: I Believe we have this covered...thank you all for reaching out responding so quickly!
ISO: Someone who could do a wood cut out of a Soldier kneeling in front of the Soldiers Cross…It will only need to be painted black, but it will need to be larger to go in the back of a pick up truck for a parade…so it will also need to be on a stand the raises it up above the truck bed.
John always wanted this for his truck for parades and event and we never got a chance to do it, so I am hoping this year for Millard Days and the Veterans Day Parades we can honor him by having this for the truck.
Please Private message me if you can help-Thank you Amber

Good Morning and Happy Sunday Everyone...
I posted yesterday that we would open back up today and be ready to give you the service you have grown to love...but in all honesty this team needs more than 24 hours of rest to do that.
With that said The Millard Cafe will remain closed today and reopen at 6a Monday morning with a team that is reenergized and ready to take care of business.
Without this team we don't have a cafe, so they need a real reset!
We love this community and all your amazing support!

Good Morning Beautiful People…as you know we are dealing with staffing issues (like everyone in the world) but we are actively working on hiring some new, fresh faces at both cafes.
DUE to short staff at both stores today we are shutting off our online menus on Door Dash and Grubhub.
We will still be taking orders through Toast (which is pick up or delivery). Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
