Chef is doing well, and we are trying to keep her busy while watching her work loadā€¦.she hasnā€™t stopped making her delicious specials for all of you, we have just slowed down sharing them - BUTā€¦she feels good and so here we areā€¦and today is her mamaā€™s Birthday - so she made some classics for all of you to enjoy! When Poppets Coffee & Tea asks you to try their new bottled lattesā€¦.I couldnā€™t say yes fast enough!

I did not expect them to give us enough for our entire Tuesday staff to sample- but they did!

Soā€¦.of course we did a lilā€™ photo shoot! šŸ“ø

Our thoughtsā€¦ they are DELICIOUS!!

In factā€¦we are hoping to be able to offer them to all of you at both of our locationsā€¦more on that later!

We had their Highlander Grogg Latte and it was devine!!!

For the last couple of weeks, we have been tearfully saying good bye to our College Staff. All of them have been with us for at least two Summers and it just gets harder each time they go back!!! šŸ˜­

We had working with usā€¦a mechanical engineer, a nurse, a future Social worker, a future accountant, a force to be reckoned with in the business of the Fashion World, and a super star Soccer Playerā€¦they are much more than thisā€¦but you get my point!!!

Kettering:
Hannah - with us - full time for two years šŸ’•- worked while earning a degree to become an RN - passed her boards (we knew she would without a doubt) - and started her job with Dayton Childrens in July! We sure do miss this young lady but we are so proud of her!!!

Reagan - she started with us in March 2024 and she just worked her last shift ever as she signed a ā€œbig girlā€ lease for 12 months and wonā€™t be coming home on breaks (except to visit) - she is a rock star (they all our) but Reagan is wise beyond her years. She is smart, beautiful and has a true and genuine heart of gold.

Izzy - spent a semester abroad and we followed her country hopping via text updates and social media. She came back to work the Summer and we sure do miss her bunches. I know we will get to see her here and there - her little sis, Ally, works at our Bellbrook location and Izzy and Ally are my neighbors!!!

Bellbrook:
Ava- my daughter - worked in our restaurants since she could reach the counters! Fatherā€™s Day was her last shift ever šŸ˜­. She is now a Project Engineer at Adams Robinson Construction! She started July 6th - really proud mama here!

Becca - over a year with us and now sheā€™s off for her sophomore year of at college! Becca was such a great partner to our full time host, Sandra. When she worked, we didnā€™t have to worry about anything !

Ella - also, over a year with our Bellbrook Team! Ella went beyond hosting and learned to expedite this Summer! She also was key in training our new hosts and Bussers - super helpful! - maybe next year she will come back and join our serving team!

To all these ladies - we thank you so much for coming back and making our Summer so GREAT!

Do well at college and when you come home for a visit, come in and see usā€¦the pancakes are on us šŸ’•šŸ« šŸ„ž

What did we do over the weekend?

We had the honor of creating a 200 guest grazing table for Bradleyā€™s 30th Birthday Bash!

What is a grazing table? It is a table that that is filled with yummy things for people to graze on! It is constantly replenished so the last guests have as many options as the first guests! Itā€™s so much fun!

What was on Bradleyā€™s Grazing Table?

Baby Big Macs

Memphis Style Pulled Pork Sliders

Queso Fundido Bar with Chorizo, Tomatoes, roasted local corn, JalapeƱos, Salsa, Green Onion, fresh fried Tortilla chips!

BBQ Meatballs

Chicken Skewers with Chimichurri, Ranch,& Buffalo Dipping Sauces

Potstickers & Veggie Spring Rolls

Caramelized Onion & Bacon Dip

We also helped with the desserts table a beautiful cake, cake pops, cookies and a candy bar! We provided the candy bar! That was so much fun to put together!!!

The best part, Bradleyā€™s parents asked that in lieu of guests, that guests please donate to A Special Wish Foundation!

It was such a special night and we were so honored to be able to do this for Bradley!

The last two weeks weā€™ve been saying, see you laterā€ to a lot of our College and High School Staff. Itā€™s so hard šŸ˜­

But today, with his parentsā€™ permission, Iā€™d like to share with you about Abraham, our first ever, Summer Mentorship Student!

Please watch the video link from ā€œOn the Road, with Steve Hartmanā€ which talks about this extraordinary young man and his first Birthday Cake at 13 years old. He gives you a perspective that just makes you want to be a better person.

How did he end up in Dayton for the Summerā€¦well, Abrahamā€™s parents are two of my dearest friends and also, thankfully, Abraham aspires to become a Chefā€¦

Soā€¦it just made sense that he would come to Dayton, Ohio for the Summer and learn in our kitchen. He worked one on one with Chef Jaime, myself, our Kettering Kitchen Manager, Mark and both staffs.

As much as we taught Abraham, he taught us too! He taught (reminded) us to be grateful for what we have and for what hard and heart work can bring you. We already knew this, but to be honestā€¦sometimes you can forget to count your blessings.

My favorite Abraham memories of working with Abraham is 1) how he called me ā€œmamā€ 2) when he received his first paycheck and said, ā€œI get paid too?!?!ā€

Abrahamā€™s last day was Fridayā€¦there were many tears and the hugs were long. His grandparents are here in Dayton, so we are sure to see him againā€¦maybe even next Summer šŸ’•

Thank you Abraham for spending your Summer here in Dayton with us! We miss you already!!!

How about a little Girlsā€™ Night Out mixed with a little Farmers Market Fun?!?

What is it??! Well, there will be a Farmers Market in our Bellbrook location plaza parking lot on Friday, September 11th from 4pm-7pm!

So we saidā€¦we should do something fun- how about we have a little party!!!šŸŽ‰

The Farmers Market is open to the public, but our Girlsā€™ Night Out is Reservations Only!

And because, well, you knowā€¦we are who we are - proceeds from this night will be donated to our dear friends at Pink Ribbon Good!

Tickets are $25 per person.

What do you get??!!

A farm themed board of locally baked breads, roasted veggies & dips, cheeses, meats, and roasted nuts - perfect for sharing while you catch up with your besties!

Each ticket also includes a seltzer, a glass of wine, an iced tea, or a frozen margarita!

How to reserve your table:

1) Gather your group and send a venmo of $25 per person
2)Give us a reservation name - have fun with this!

One of our favorite things about being in Bellbrook is our ā€œtraditionsā€ā€¦

Here is one of our favorite newer traditions - visits from the Bellbrook Cheerleaders & Coaches and the Bellbrook Football Team!

At our original location - we never had the room to accommodate a whole team! But we triedā€¦lolā€¦We used to cram the football team and we just made it ā€œworkā€ !

Finally had the chance to visit the newest business in our OG town of Bellbrook, Ohio!

A renovated School House with beautiful landscaping and smiling staff to take care of you. We instantly felt welcomed as we walked thru the door!

So many cute little spaces to sit inside but it was so nice outside that we decided to find a nice spot on the porch where we enjoyed our Latte and Flat White served in beautiful hand made pottery mugs.

We just enjoyed coffee this time, but they have a lot of baked goods that looked absolutely delicious!

I almost felt like I was on vacation!
Which is the BEST way to catch up with my dear friend and the perfect place to spend part of my day off!

Welcome to Bellbrook - canā€™t wait to visit again!
