A piece of local history recently surfaced during a remodel of a nearby home — a photograph showing two men from the Beldenville baseball team, dating back to the 1920s. What makes it even more amazing is that this is the only known photo ever discovered of any of the players.

Back in 1923, Beldenville had one of the best amateur baseball teams in the area, featuring seven semi-pro players from St. Paul. It was not uncommon for games to draw hundreds — and sometimes thousands — of spectators from around the area.

Ironically, the photo was found among a collection believed to have belonged to Clyde Stewart. Thank you to our neighbors for sharing this amazing find with us!
