🥵☀️ After five summers of owning Martha Jean’s Diner, the Arkansas heat has definitely tested us!

Our front dining room air conditioner is over 25 years old, and after doing everything we could to keep it going, it’s finally time for a replacement. 🙌❄️

🔧 This Thursday, we will be having a brand-new unit installed. The installation will take place during business hours, which means we will not have air conditioning in the front of the restaurant for most, if not all, of the day.

🚪 We will still be OPEN and serving breakfast and lunch until 3:00 PM, but we want everyone to know it may be a little warm inside.

🥡 If you’d rather stay cool, we will gladly be taking to-go orders all day long!

❤️ We appreciate your patience as we make this much-needed improvement. This new unit is a big investment, but one that will help make your dining experience much more comfortable during these hot Arkansas summers.

Y’all, I’m just going to be honest.

Fish Friday has been extremely slow, and right now I have to make a decision about whether we can continue staying open on Friday nights.

We started Fish Friday because so many people asked for it, and we truly wanted to give our community another place to gather and enjoy a good meal. But for us to keep doing it, we need the support.

So if you’ve been meaning to come try our fish, this Friday would be a great time. Bring your family, invite your friends, and come spend your evening with us at Martha Jean’s Diner.

We love serving this community, but small businesses can only keep things going when the community shows up.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

As a small business owner, I’ve noticed something lately.

We often hear small businesses talk about wanting more local support, and that’s understandable—we all need our communities. But I also believe that support starts with us.

Imagine what could happen if every small business in town made an effort to support other small businesses. Grab lunch from a local restaurant, shop at a local boutique, hire local services, share each other’s posts, and genuinely cheer one another on.

There is enough room for all of us to succeed. When one small business thrives, it brings more people into our community, and that benefits everyone.

Instead of seeing each other as competition, let’s see each other as neighbors working toward the same goal: keeping our town strong and helping local families succeed.

Support doesn’t always have to be a purchase. Sometimes it’s a recommendation, a share, a kind word, or simply showing up.

Let’s build a community where small businesses don’t just survive—they help each other thrive.

Tomorrow, Monday, May 25th, our diner will be closed in honor of Memorial Day so that our employees can spend the day with their families and truly reflect on the meaning behind this holiday. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than cookouts and long weekends — it is a time to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:12-13 ❤️

We are thankful for those who served, those we have lost, and the freedoms we are blessed with each and every day. We pray everyone has a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day spent with the people you love most.

🐟✝️ Fish Friday is happening tonight from 4 PM to 8 PM, and Restoration Youth Group will be hanging out and serving with smiling faces! Come spend your evening with us, enjoy some good food, fellowship, and support these amazing young people as they work hard for their church activities and future events.

We truly believe when a community comes together, beautiful things happen. ❤️

Tomorrow night is more than just dinner — it’s an opportunity to pour back into the next generation. ❤️

Join us for our Youth Serve Night at the diner tomorrow evening as the youth from Restoration Church step in to serve our community with smiling faces and servant hearts.

A portion of the proceeds and all tips will go directly toward helping these amazing kids attend church camp and continue growing in their faith.

We would love for our community to come out, eat good food, encourage these young people, and help support something bigger than ourselves.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12

We’re honored to host a special fundraiser night for Restoration Church youth group here at the diner ❤️

Join us from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM for great food and a great cause. During this time, all tips plus 10% of sales will go directly back to support the youth group as they continue growing in faith, fellowship, and purpose.

We believe in investing in our young people and helping build a strong foundation in Christ. As Scripture says:

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Come hungry, bring your family, and help us support what God is doing through these students. Every meal, every tip, and every act of support makes a difference! 🙏

As a small business owner, this is a post I never wanted to have to make. We have suspected for a while that someone was taking tips from our servers off the tables, but today we caught it happening. Let me be very clear: taking money that belongs to our girls is theft. They work hard for every dollar they earn and do not deserve to have anyone take from them.

The individuals involved will no longer be welcome in our diner, and moving forward, law enforcement will be contacted immediately if this happens again. It’s extremely frustrating and heartbreaking that we even have to address something like this in our small community.

For anyone wondering—we do have 15 cameras throughout our building. We see more than people may realize, and we will continue doing everything we can to protect our staff and our business.

We love and appreciate every customer who supports us, but we will always stand up for our staff and protect the people who help keep our doors open.

“Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is dishonest in very little is also dishonest in much.” — Luke 16:10

We believe in grace, but we also believe in accountability.
