Reminder to come out Saturday, October 4th, and help us celebrate an amazing 12 years of community and friendship! We believe BBQ brings people together and we'd love to celebrate the end of this chapter with you before we close the doors for the final time Saturday night!

We'll be open all day with live music starting at 4:30p by the incredibly talented Cunningham Sisters Music and Hunter Brinson. We look forward to seeing you here!

It is with tremendous gratitude and a touch of bittersweetness we are sharing this news.

After 12 incredible years in Bee Cave, Texas, Schmidt Family Barbecue will be closing its doors on October 4th. It’s a moment filled with mixed emotions—pride in what we’ve built, sadness in saying goodbye, and deep gratitude for the journey.

We’re immensely proud of the business we’ve grown, the friendships we’ve made, and especially our amazing team—many of whom have been with us since day one and have truly become family.

Chad will be stepping away from the pit to focus on family and embrace his role as a full-time rodeo dad to our daughter, Makayla. This new chapter has been unfolding for a while, and it’s time to give it the attention it deserves.

Barbecue will always be a passion for us, and we’re so thankful for the unwavering support from our Bee Cave community. We invite you to stop by before we close and join us on October 4th with live music starting at 4p and help us celebrate 12 amazing years.

Though this location is closing, our family’s barbecue legacy continues. We hope you’ll visit our beloved spots in Lockhart—Smitty’s Market and Kreuz Market—as well as Lockhart Smokehouse in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
