Covid-19 relief for renters!

Covid-19 relief for renters!

The Tarrant County Commissioners Court has allocated funds to assist with rental payments for those directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for up to three (3) months subject to periodic review of eligibility. Tarrant County will make the final determination of eligibility and the amount of assistance provided.

Should you not be eligible for this program, you may be referred to another assistance program or organization. In order to receive assistance through this program, the property landlord must be willing to provide information to document unpaid rent and be a willing program participant. Any and all funds granted will be paid directly to the landlord.

City update!

City update!

Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley this morning provided an update on COVID-19 and announced an executive order requiring the wearing of masks in most public situations. Judge Whitley shared that over the past two weeks, Tarrant County has seen a 52% increase in positive COVID-19 cases, a 67% increase in hospitalizations, and a 14% increase in deaths.
โ€œWe believe that masks are our best alternative at this time,โ€ he said, emphasizing that he does not want to return to the restrictions instituted in March.
Todayโ€™s executive order will become effective at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020. Here are the highlights:

๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐›๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ?
Any commercial entity in the county that provides goods or services directly to the public must develop a "health and safety policy" that includes requiring anyone inside their facility to wear a face-covering when in close proximity to other people. Businesses may add other measures to their policy in addition to masks such as temperature checks or health screenings, and their policy must be posted โ€œin a conspicuous locationโ€ so that itโ€™s visible to the public. The county order also includes an example policy that businesses may use.

The order urges anyone 10 years or older to wear a face-covering that covers their nose and mouth anywhere in public where it is difficult to keep six feet of separation. It requires that masks be worn in Tarrant County businesses that provide goods or services to the public, as well as outdoor areas where 100 people or more are present. Please note: The CDC does not recommend face coverings for children under 2 years old.

When eating or drinking
When receiving a service where the wearing of a face covering would impair the performance of the service (i.e. receiving a facial)
If wearing a mask poses a โ€œsignificant mental or physical health riskโ€ to the individual

Businesses can be fined up to $1,000 for each violation of the order if they do not "develop and implement" a health and safety policy within five days of when the order goes into effect. The order goes into effect at 6:00 p.m. June 26, 2020, so businesses must have their policies in place by Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

The order is in effect until 6:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2020. Please note that it may be extended, modified, or ended early by Judge Whitley.

Judge Whitleyโ€™s order comes after Gov. Abbott on Monday said that COVID-19 was spreading at โ€œan unacceptable rateโ€ in Texas. As of Wednesday afternoonโ€™s update, Tarrant County Public Health has recorded 9,846 positive cases of COVID-19.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
Who do you know that has served in the name of freedom? ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The Six Tastes

The Six Tastes

What a blessing to be able to cook for cause.
It gives me so much joy when I am in the kitchen. And this place is amazing. People here are amazing. We think a like and have a lot in common, like environment, humanity and food.
We feel that we are here to serve our community and humanity in any little way we can.
500 Dumplings wrapped individually by Me, yup all by self because I wanted to.
So imagine how many dumplings can be wrapped when more than one person is involved.
I also would like to point out that I always use environment or Earth friendly containers that are compostable, even the plastics are compostable.
It is more expensive but I do not care because I am not here to make profit by harming my mother Earth and humans serving in styrofoam or plastic containers.
I believe in quality over quantity.
So all the businesses out there, please BE KIND TO OUR ENVIRONMENT OR EARTH. Do what you can to limit waste.
And us individual, let's do our part to serve our community and our Earth.

Every small act will go a long way.

Thank you Alex London Thomas for volunteering to put together this incredible flier.
Central Arts presents No More Starving Artist a program for anyone in need as we go through these times of uncertainty. No one needs to go without food or someone to help them out. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help! Share this flier and help those who are in need. We love you all and canโ€™t wait for everything to go back to normal.

Tomorrow we'll be whipping up some super immune boosting meals for families in the area. Pay what you can, or pay it forward! And today, we have a few nonperishable items available for anyone in need. These are out on the patio, and we'll stock more each day.
