To Our Beloved Borikén Family, 💛🇵🇷
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce it’s time to say goodbye. 💔
Since opening our doors in 2014, Borikén has been so much more than a restaurant—it has been a second home. Together, we have built a community filled with laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments. ✨
Like many small businesses, we faced immense challenges during the pandemic, but we held on, fueled by our love for this place and for all of you. ❤️ Despite our best efforts, the lasting impacts of COVID-19 have made it increasingly difficult to continue. Rising costs—from employee wages and food prices to the overall expense of operations—have created an insurmountable challenge, despite all we’ve given to keep Borikén alive.
Our last day of service will be Sunday, November 9, 2025. 📅
This decision was not made lightly, and our hearts ache as we let go of a place into which we’ve poured so much love, passion, and countless memories.
While Borikén will soon close its doors, the location will continue under new ownership—serving a different cuisine (not Puerto Rican). 🍜 The new owners bring their own dreams and vision to this space, and we wish them much success as they begin their journey. 🙏
Thank you for your unwavering support, for embracing us as family, and for sharing in our journey for so many years. 💕 We will forever hold these memories close, and each of you will always be a cherished part of Borikén’s legacy. 🌺
With endless love and gratitude,
Don Samuel and Doña Awi
