Thank you for supporting us over these last 5 years! We are truly grateful🙏 FAQ from Josh & Stacey👇
Q. What was it like going from Corporate America to opening a Family Pizzeria?
We still often think of how crazy of a decision we made. Going from a comfortable and financially secure lifestyle to risking it all with zero experience and no back up plan. I mean, who does that?!? It literally took blood, sweat, tears and too many mistakes to count to get from a dream to a reality. We still pinch ourselves.
Q: How many hats do you wear as an owner?
Hmm… let’s see — HR, plumber, electrician, janitor, marketing, sales, IT, coach, cheerleader, trainer, DJ, interior decorator, event planner, accountant, “firefighter,” delivery driver… and we even make pizza sometimes 🙂
Q: What does a typical day actually look like?
The day usually starts with a solid morning routine — a little movement to get our minds right. Then it’s off to wherever we’re needed. Sometimes that’s covering a shift. Sometimes it’s working on the business at a coffee shop. Sometimes it’s delivering supplies between stores. Sometimes it’s 1:1s with our team. Every day is an adventure.
Q: What’s the hardest part nobody talks about?
One of our favorite parts of owning a business is being people leaders.
It can also be the hardest.
Q: How often are you actually at the restaurant?
It ebbs and flows depending on staffing and the season. When things are running smoothly, we ride the wave and let our awesome leadership team run the show. When we’re training or navigating busy seasons, we’re there most days of the week making sure we get face time with our team and our amazing customers.
Q: What would you tell someone thinking about opening a business?
For us, the pizza part is actually the easy part. Running the ‘business’ is the hard part. You have to give it your all. Be comfortable making quick decisions. Make mistakes. Learn fast. Keep moving forward.
Understanding building a great employee culture and delivering an amazing customer experience is just as important as what you’re selling.
Lastly? Go for it! You only live once. We wouldn’t change this journey for the world.
