What up, Buttercups! đź’›
This Saturday, September 26th, we’re coming together to support a local family whose child is facing a life-threatening illness.
We’ll be donating 10% of all Big Red Counter sales on Saturday directly to the family to help support them during this incredibly difficult time. Cash donations are also accepted.
There will also be bracelets available for purchase in our lobby, with 100% of those proceeds going toward the family as well.
So come grab some goodies, treat yourself to something sweet, and help us show this family a little extra love and support. Every purchase, every bracelet, and every bit of support truly makes a difference. ❤️
We’ll share their story below so you can learn more about this sweet child and what their family is facing.
If you’re able, come see us Saturday and help us fill the bakery with a whole lot of love. 🩷
Wyatt is a Beavercreek 3rd grader who has been fighting battles that no child should ever have to face.
Wyatt was diagnosed with leukemia at just 2 years old. After an incredible fight, he received a bone marrow transplant that put him into remission. His family finally got to breathe a little easier and watch him grow.
Then, on his 8th birthday, their world was turned upside down again when they learned that Wyatt had a rare brain tumor.
In March, Wyatt underwent an 8-hour brain surgery. His neurosurgeon removed everything he safely could, and about a month later, Wyatt began radiation.
Now, his family is once again praying for a miracle.
Doctors are concerned that there may be new growth in Wyatt's brain. Everyone is desperately hoping that what they are seeing is radiation necrosis rather than tumor progression, but unfortunately, there is a very real possibility that it could be the tumor growing again.
Wyatt is currently receiving infusions every two weeks. The week before his first infusion, he had to start steroids again, and he has now been on them for about a month.
Since beginning this latest round of treatment, Wyatt has been dealing with so many difficult symptoms. He has experienced significant dizziness when standing or walking, and a few weeks ago, he had seizure activity that resulted in a hospital stay for several nights.
Through all of this, Wyatt continues to fight.
But this isn't only weighing on Wyatt. It's weighing heavily on his parents and his siblings, too. They are doing everything they can to stay strong for him, while watching someone they love go through something no family should ever have to endure.
