On the morning of January third, a fire started at the Black Crow Restaurant. No one was at the Crow when it started, and our family and staff are all safe. We are incredibly thankful that no one was harmed in the blaze. We are still unsure of how the fire started, but we do know it began behind the banquet room. We are still looking into how something like this could have happened.
The damage done to both the restaurant and our banquet room is significant, and we are still discovering just how extensive the damage is.
We are incredibly thankful to all of the first responders and city officials that were on scene on the morning of the fire. They could not have been more kind, understanding, and helpful. On a day when our livelihoods literally went up in smoke, they were so patient and understanding.
All of us here at the Crow are pretty shaken up and still trying to figure out the next steps. The Crow will obviously be closed until we can make repairs. Right now, we do not have a timeline for when things may be back to normal, but as we get more information about how much is damaged, we will have a better idea of what the future holds. All updates will be posted here on our official page.
Most of all, we would like to thank our amazing family and friends that came out to support us. We are incredibly blessed to have such selfless and generous people in our lives. To all of those who reached out with support, love, and offers of help; to all who showed up on the day and held us as we watched the smoke roll ;to those who lent us their homes and offices to give us a place to breathe, plan, and get warm; to those who drove us to and from to get supplies; to those who offered advice when we didn’t know what steps to take next; to those who brought hot coffee and food; to those who got on the phone and mobilized assistance; to those who cooked us meals; to those who followed us into our restaurant to lent their backs and arms; to those who lent their cars, trucks, and trailers to help us move equipment and supplies; to those who took it upon themselves to help us get our power on to save undamaged inventory; to those who have donated to help rebuild, we cannot thank you enough. To our amazing customers and friends that have become more like family and made the Crow more than just a restaurant, we thank you.
We are unsure of what the future holds, but we ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Finally, we ask that if you have any pictures of the Crow decorated for Christmas from this year or past, that you share them in the comments or post them to our page. None of the decorations survived and we would like to look back on the Crow during our favorite time of year.
Through it all, God is good, and His will be done.
