One year ago, we opened with a dream of creating something that felt like more than just a coffee shop. We wanted UGCH to be a place where people felt at home, a place where you could walk in, see a familiar face, share a conversation, celebrate the good days and find comfort on the hard ones.
You’ve allowed us to become a part of your mornings, your routines, your friendships and your families. We’ve learned your orders, watched strangers become friends, watched people meet for a first date, celebrated milestones and have been reminded over and over again just how special this community truly is.
In our first year, UGCH has donated over $15,000 to organizations, nonprofits, schools, fundraisers and other causes in our community. We’ve donated over 75 Boxes of Joe to events, organizations and people who needed a little extra coffee and support. From the beginning, we promised ourselves that if this community showed up for us, we would always show up for this community.
Somewhere along the way, you helped turn our little coffee house into exactly what we dreamed it could be.
So this anniversary doesn’t feel like it belongs only to Will and I, it belongs to all of us. We don’t want a big party, we just want to spend the day with the people who made this first year so unforgettable.
Come celebrate a year with us on 9/18 from 7AM–4PM. We’ll be here all day doing what we love. Making coffee, catching up with you and feeling incredibly grateful every time the door opens. And did you really think we’d let the day go by without giving back? LOL There will be surprises, giveaways, special treats and little thank-yous happening throughout the day!
