Big changes, same heart.

We’ve officially passed the torch—Umami Ramen has been leased to Chef Benny and Denise Young of Mitts 2 Pits Catering, and we couldn’t be more excited for everything new and fresh they’re bringing into the space.

What started as our kitchen is now continuing on as a place for flavor, hard work, and community. Congratulations to Chef Benny and Denise for the energy, passion, and dedication you’re pouring into building up our city through your food. 🙌

As for Lance and I, we’re embracing a new season—spending time in retirement traveling, visiting family and friends, and soaking in life’s moments a little deeper.

This isn’t goodbye—it’s growth.

You guys have no idea how many people have contacted us wanting and needing employment. Many of them saying that they can’t find a job anywhere! Many just wanting to get something under their belt! Excited about the kind of place that is inclusive and accommodating.

A New Chapter for Umami Ramen with semi retirement in mind. Lance and I have decided it’s time to close a meaningful chapter of our lives. This decision wasn’t easy. We’ve cherished every moment with our incredible foodie community and our hardworking team, who have been the heart of our journey.

After 10 years of pouring our heart into Umami Ramen, it’s time for a new chapter. We’re stepping into semi-retirement to focus on life beyond the kitchen for more time with each other, family, travel, and making health our top priority.

With that, Umami Ramen will not be reopening as a traditional scratch kitchen. Instead, we’re transforming into a space for culinary entrepreneurs, pop-ups, and startups looking to test ideas, refine their craft, and build something great. Think of it as a community kitchen with strategy, resources, and support to help others grow.

This shift is about paying it forward—helping the next wave of food innovators take their first big step.

Thank you for all the love and support over the years. This isn’t goodbye—it’s just the start of something different. Stay tuned!
